I realise we have a poor record in employing recently sacked Chelsea managers, but I'm surprised Maresca's name hasn't been mentioned.
If he didnt like being told what to do at them, he aint gonna be impressed with how we do transfers and our injury records.

I dont know what style of play he is?

I honestly dont understand why we have gone yrs with Destiny and 50yr old Davies as proper back up for a LB. Its negligence. How hard is it?
Does any other make do with as much as we do? Play Spence there, move Vdv there

Just make sure each position had adequate cover. If they all drop then fine

I get that Alonso is the dream but highly unlikely, Poch is unavailable, so who are the more likely candidates?

Glasner, Iraola,…

It’s a small market currently, I agree, I can’t see Alonso coming here in a million years. Poch… heart says yes, head says it doesn’t work twice. Glasner, I think his set up means we have fans whinging that we aren’t playing incredible football this time next year, Areola I think is far too important for West Ham in goal currently.

…I think you meant Iraola 😛 who will likely be a popular choice, but it depends for me, Bournemouth aren’t going as well this year and I think they’re knackered, our players propensity to lay on a treatment table would worry me how they would fare with him, equally, I’d like to change a LOT of our players…

Why is Poch unavailable? He still lives near the training ground. His heart never left. We just need to ask.

Worst case scenario we could even loan him to America for those final 270 minutes

You live in pure fantasy land mate with your theories. I know it sounds alright in your head but in reality it’s the complete opposite of your imagination.

Trump will impose tariffs on Spurs if we try to sign Pochettino.

If I were Vinai, I'd go out of my way to try and sign Alonso, but he'd be crazy to come. His reputation is sky-high after the way Real kicked him out. I don't think anybody ever imagined Pochettino would reach the CL final with Spurs when he was managing Southampton, so there's a huge element of chance.

All clubs are different and it takes something you can't really assess to succeed: adaptability. Some clubs will give you more time than others but I feel it's no longer about taking the model you had at your former club and applying it with a new set of players (it's not only about that, in fact), it's also about what you're going to do when things don't go according to plan, which will inevitably happen sooner or later.

Managers are still human beings at the end of the day and just like any of us, they'll react differently to different situation. A lot of people were adamant that Frank was a good choice for us, but he had a relatively smooth ride at Bretford and when things went wrong, he couldn't find a way to get things back on track.

Same for Alonso at Real or Amorim at ManUre when you think about it. What your guy is doing at his currently club gives you an idea of what you can hope for, but there's no guarantee - just a general philosophy and what happens next is pretty much anybody's guess.
