How do any of us know what the real list of targets was?
We've been told by our mate who was told by his mum who heard it from her hairdresser who was told by her window cleaner who heard it from his brother-in-law.
How do any of us know what the real list of targets was?
The thing that intrigues me most about Ange is that he doesn't have a backroom staff - everyone that he has worked with at Celtic was already there, so wondering how he will build that out.
You're Scott Munn. You just got hired by one of the 10 richest clubs in the world. Your first task is to fill the most key position at the club: manager. And the first thing you think about is to go for "one of your mates," rather than who is the best fit? Seriously? That's lazy journalist stuff right there.
Did it ever occur to you that Ange may actually fit the bill and the fact that him and Munn are both Australian is just a coincidence?
This explains a lot of the tone of your recent posts. You are a spurs fan no doubt but your sentiment at times is from a completely different angle ... not bad or good just different. Not going to knock anyone for having an opinion, I just disagree with a lot of your posts.
I haven't extensively followed the thread so my bad if it's been said before but Ange seems like the manager that could come in to a lower PL team and have us thinking "We definitely should have taken a chance on him" a la De Zerbi.
Still don't get the point of the guy, tbh. You want your men at the top well connected, in the know in domestic, European and world football, with a large rolodex of people to call. To replace the abysmal Daniel Levy, we got in a guy whose career was in China and Australia. Dunno how we identified him, but if he ends up appointing Postecoglou, it is not a promising sign as to his competence, imo.
”It's easier in this part of the world to say 'I love football and I want a career in it' and then there's the path for you. In Australia every step you take you've got to earn. I've had to do that as a manager even more so. All along the way I simply refuse to yield to anybody or feel inferior to anybody, just because I was born on the other side of the world.
The more I’ve seen of Postecoglou and read things he says, the more I can see myself loving this man like I love Big MJ.
He just seems to have that vibe about him.
Imagine he turns us down !!Ange’s last game today before he becomes our new Head Coach.
.
I think what you’re trying to say is that my needs and wants as a Spurs fan are different than those of someone who goes to the stadium at least semi-regularly?
Ange’s last game today before he becomes our new Head Coach.
Presumably we don’t need to pay Celtic any compensation as I believe Ange has always worked on a 1 year rolling contract with them.
He brings no coaching staff which is intriguing so I guess Mason could end up being our no 2. Any idea how many coaches he will want appointed? Probably a smaller team than what Conte had.
Just need the new Head of Recruitment now and on we roll.
Hopefully the funds we have saved on this appointment helps with the pot needed for players.
The target for next season should be Europa League qualification via the league and with some luck maybe win a domestic cup.
Beyond that I am hoping for a real transformation in playing style, culture and togetherness from the fans.
Not in the slightest, you are in the majority of football fans sitting in armchairs ... I was more taking about you being somewhat aggressive in defending posti and championing him.
Imagine he turns us down !!
We'll have Mason and Chris Powell to mentor him while he learns the ropes of top level footballThe thing that intrigues me most about Ange is that he doesn't have a backroom staff - everyone that he has worked with at Celtic was already there, so wondering how he will build that out.
It's a very big step for ange... I consider him a higher risk than Nuno. It's very different trying to motivate top paid professional sportsmen.
It's not just about understanding how to play nice football. Tactics against coaches and players at another level, and more teams to study compared to the Scottish league.
His experience though long in Scotland, still falls short for a club that should be in Europe . He will be a miracle man if he takes us into Europe - which is yet another learning experience.
