Hahahaha...49 and still play 8 v 8 indoor twice a week (half pitch) against much younger guys mostly...I always 'talk' a bit before anything happens. TBH rare are the egregious ones, and when they happen, next action sees me make sure that '50/50' has something very clearly left in the form of a body-check/shoulder barge.

A lot of us on here found it amusing (or another adjective) when Costa wound up that Goon CB and got him sent off earlier in the season. Dembele should know better than to lose his head and get a potentially lengthy suspension for his actions.
 
Dembele's action seems to be due to the fact that Costa was grabbing him by the back. In the video it looks like Costa is just grabbing his shirt, but for all we know he could have been grabbing skin and back muscle too, which would explain the reaction. Still no excuse for putting his hands anywhere near the vicinity of Costa's face. Just shove him back and leave a foot in next time he tries to get past you.

So in one thread you criticize the violent reaction of our players (which are bound to be caught on camera and possibly lead to suspension) and in this thread you say shove him and leave a foot in. Which reaction are you in favour of? I would prefer our players to keep control, laugh in their faces and score half a dozen goals.

Thank you guys. Chelsea are cheating snide filty bastards and we stood up for our selves. Whats a disgrace, is ANY of our fans turning on our players for that.
 
Never thought Dembele would react like that. Always thought he was a mild mannered player. It was really a stupid thing to do when we were leading 1-0. Now he might get long ban which might affect our start of the next season.

Anyway, Torres did the similiar thing on Vertonghen in 2013 and still escaped without any punishment.

I don't like spiteful bitches like Costa and Suarez, no matter who they play for. Then to compound matters the players get band and are absent for multiple matches. Some say between 6-10 for Dembele.
It does not matter what damage he actually did, it was the intent!
Remember the shocking actions of Jose Mourinho when tried to gouge one of the Barcelona staff in a fracas on the touchline, I was appalled by those scenes and for me I never expected to see such behaviour from a anybody associated with Spurs, I truly didn't.

Dembele has a screw lose and is now going to be target.
Chelsea made mugs of us and that was down to our players, I don't care how old they are Poch should come down on them like a ton of bricks

I think you are over reacting mate.
Incidentally I do think we lost our heads and as a result drew the match but dembele was only one of 4 or 5 players seeing the red mist. I think it is hard to distinguish which of our actions on the night was worse , the attempted gouge, throwing blood, standing on players hands or leg breaking tackles. Half of the team lost their cool and singling dembele out as a lone nutjob doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

yes. If the rule is correct that a player cannot be banned if officials see the incident and dont act, then any lawyer worth any salt with that evidence, wins the case for our defence

With the general melee he might have been facing that way but looking closely at someone else. Even if looking at Mousa he might not have been able to see his hand.

Not that inconsistent. It's one thing to push someone away and cleverly leave a foot in and a whole different story to put your hands to his face or go into flying tackles that are obviously late and intended to injure.

No pouch shouldn't. He should back his players 100% doing what you suggest would have a hugely negative impact on our cohesiveness. And result in us never winning anything under him. What would Fergie do..... definitely not what your suggesting.
