Moses - can he lead us to the promised CL land?

Kane and bentaleb won't be itching to leave. Lloris maybe. let's make top 4 this season then, so we get to keep everyone! Our back 5 and the back up back 5 is incredibly strong. We have one of the best strikers in the league. Chadli and eriksen scored more than most midfielders (and strikers) in the league. The squad will be more used to picks tactics and he knows who he wants to play and cutting the fat. Plus we are going to improve the squad too. Seems pretty solid a plan to me.

My big fear is poch. The season is long gone so I'm excited again, but I'm not actually convinced by him. I'm more just a very hopeful person!

If we have two seasons without CL. A big bid from Man U, Man C or RM . They will be off faster than sh1 t off the proverbial shovel. Believe me on that

Yes. It gives us virtually no chance of top four anytime, let alone soon. I fear we will be stuck in the same groove as a feeder club from now on. Let's see if Benteke delivers for Liverpool. If he does, we can expect 6 th place at best for the foreseeable future imo
Oh come on! We're less than three weeks away from the start of the season. If you can't be a bit optimistic now then when can you be?

We've all lived through our fair share of false dawns. I was a Spurs fan last time we were relegated... I was a regular at White Hart Lane during the 1990s... I've known the dark days and I've paid my dues. Let me have a few weeks believing this time the dawn is real... this time it really will be OUR season...

:)

I don't want to prick anyone's bubble, believe me.

I just feel that we currently have the core of a decent side and two (maybe three) top signings in key positions could have seen us mount a serious challenge for the top four. Who knows, we still may make the signings we need, but I am not holding my breath. In any event, lets hope we get off to a flier at Man U.

I'll shut-up about it if Van Gaal finishes this season in the top four, but I still think he could screw it up. It's just a hunch - no evidence to back it up - but I get the feeling he's someone who could alienate not just the dressing room, but also The Board at Man U. I'm still waiting for it to implode up there.

I also think Arsenal could have a real problem replacing Wenger, but until that happens I would bet more on us overtaking Man Utd than Arsenal.
I agree about LVG.
If I was a betting man a nice little bet of no trophies to Man U or Liverpool and at least one of them sacked before start of next season could pay out nicely

I believe that LVG has to win something this season if not he will be gone gone ( and the same for Rodgers), the way he is throwing money around looks pretty desperate to me and Utd will struggle with all those new players.

I think LVG's tenure will largely depend on his defensive signings over the next month. They've bought very well in midfield and are certainly overstocked in those positions. Up front they can get away with Rooney (with Chicharito as backup at a push) flanked by two inside forwards or Felani in the hole but at the back they are unconvincing. If De Gea goes they will be worse.
We'll see how that pans out but they need another forward and a half decent CB who can organise the back line before they can be considered contenders.

Whatever happens I think LVG is not that impressive and I'm sort of glad he didn't come to Spurs.

@UberCheIseaFC:BREAKING: Spurs have made a bid in the region of £12m for Victor Moses which #CFC are expected to accept. Chelsea will now go in for Pedro.

Few other outlets reporting the same.

We are a very new/young team. About 12 months old.

I don't care about the top 4. I want us to build a team that will be challenging for the title before the end of the decade.

5th or 6th again next season will be fine. Our goal should be to get back into the habbit of winning things again. There's 3 cup competition we are capable of winning

oh dear. So average. If this is what the black box throws up then im not impressed

fcuk, if we are going to buy a chelski cast off then why not go for Patrick Bamford

I can't say that I have watched Moses particularly closely previously, but I do remember him being my clear man of the match when they beat us 1-0 at WHL last season.

with our new scouting set up, shouldnt we have gone past signing players who just have a good game against us ;)

If he was better than Townsend wouldn't he be in the England set up ahead of him? I know that's not nailed on proof, but it's a fairly decent indication of what level each player is at.

I've nothing against Moses, I think he could offer something with his pace (we need that since bale left), but I just think Townsend is massively underrated by some Spurs fans, he's no world beater but he really is quite a good player.

As someone else mentioned above, if we can actually do business with chelski now, I'd much rather it was for Salah than Moses.
