Maybe. My read on it is that Schneiderlin and Capoue occupy the same space on the pitch in front of the CB's but to be honest I'm just going on just the few games I've seen against us and a few...em....youtube vids.i can see where you're coming from with it being one of Capoue and Schneiderlin - but im not sure if a box to box/runner type will be who they are paired with - Im not overly familiar with MPs Southampton side but i was under the impression he used a defensive player alongside the playmaker - with the defensive player still being pretty comfortable on the ball - which is why i see Capoue pairing MS with Bentaleb and probably Sandro in reserve
You volunteering?
:-"
Strange one really.different roles, no?
as i understand it MS would be paired alongside a Sandro/Capoue type - rather than to replace them
So in everyone else's opinion is Schneiderlin an upgrade on Sandro?
I think people forget just how solid Sandro and Dembele were in their first year together. Yes we lacked some creativity from the centre of the park but if you have playmakers ahead of them I think it works. A solid base who can compete with anyone.
They were amazing. Problem is both had odd seasons. One with a bad injury that he didn't really come back from and then a torrid time with TS. And the other struggling to complete 90 minutes and clearly out of form.I think people forget just how solid Sandro and Dembele were in their first year together. @wayneveysey: Morgan Schneiderlin has turned down a move to Arsenal. Wants a guaranteed starting role.

Sounds like sour grapes to me, who is this Wayne veysey?
Goal reporter and Arsenal fan. Seems to be a proper Gooner lover. he is very well informed on Arsenal.Sounds like sour grapes to me, who is this Wayne veysey?
Read that the proposed Schneiderlin deal is around £14m up front/guaranteed with up to £10m more in clauses.
Really???? This Southampton circus is a bit silly now. Very solid player but I can't say potentially £24m is good business. Christ.
Depends what the clauses are. Half of the Soldado fee was clauses.
If we only pay the extra money if he and we get results then it is good business, surely?
