Mikey Moore

Ffs, send him to a league one side where he'll be the best player in the he team, rather than the 'best' loan he can get. It's all about minutes and experience

What will he learn by being the best player in the team? There needs to be an element of challenge and he needs to earn his place.

He does need game time though. Didn't play much this season, so another season of him sitting on the bench isn't great
He was involved up till he missed 2 months through a virus he had and then featured on the bench a lot after. I think he needs game time as well but not on loan.

It ensures he plays, like Donley, Keeley and Abbott. Not like Lankshear.
He needs to get used to the physical aspect of men's football, and he's not going to do that sitting on a bench.

So 2 ex-Spurs coaches after him.

Personally I'd like to see Mikey get playing time at Spurs rather than on loan, he’s close to being ready now and one loan won't make that big a difference to him so just get him in the first team now.
He won't get any more playing time at those clubs than he has at Spurs, which is not enough. And he's definitely not ready, that was blatantly obvious. He needs a loan where he's a first team regular.

Agree that he needs to be playing but if he's waltzing in to the team as it's best player then he's not going to be challenged, which creates other problems - there needs to be a bit of both.

If we were in the Europa League / Conference there'd be a case to be made but it's unlikely he'd get enough football unless there's another injury clusterfudge situation.

I kind of felt bad for Moore, most of his starts (in the league at least) ended up with him getting hooked at half time having little to no impact on the game. But the moments came in the early stages of the EL and we just aren't going to have games against opponents of that kind of level. Championship where he needs to fight for his place sounds good, but a loan to Mason seems a bit iffy, I'd be a tad worried if I were a WBA and saw the club taking on Spurs youngsters, but then I don't know enough about their squad and what they need. It's reminiscent of former Utd players managing lower league clubs, with it becoming a B team to farm out academy players to, didn't work out well for manager, play or club in many instances.

While positivity is great and all, seeing him being labelled a Spurs sensation seems a bit over the top. Moore looks like a promising player who has the qualities we appreciate, but we've seen it many a time (most recently Edwards). Rooney at 16/17 was a sensation, Moore looks excellent in his age groups and needs to translate that across to men's football.

I see him and Solomon being listed as real viable LW options in squad evaluations but it seems less about reality and more about posters with vendettas against other options tbh...

Seems like we've been getting a lot of our loans right recently.

I think it's difficult to know, particularly from the outside, what level of football he's currently ready for. Agreed it's important that he doesn't go somewhere to end up just sitting on the bench. But that doesn't just mean going to a lower level. Club, style of play manager etc.

Going to a club managed by a coach who knows him well, knows what he's getting and what to expect may be one of the better ways to prevent him just sitting on the bench imo.

As we saw with Bergvall the distance from not quite being at the level to thriving doesn't have to be that long.

I agree that with us being in the CL a loan probably will be the best option. But he's a special talent and even when he was hooked at half time etc it was mostly from a lack of impact rather than looking out of place imo.

Think it would be good to let the new manager have a look at him in preseason.

Could it be that the lack of club trained players and the need for a CL squad might work in the favour of a couple of these U21s? Guys like Moore automatically make the B-list. New signings like Vuskovic and Yang haven't been registered with the club for 2 years so have to compete with the seniors for the 17 A-list spots. We already have youngsters Gray, Bergval and Odobert taking 3 slots in the A-list.

I think as the summer rolls on we get to learn more about the permutations and combinations. It's a great opportunity in pre-season to see which ones make the plane to the far-east.

Making the B-list is not a reason to keep him around. He needs to be ready to play. If he's not, then keeping him around for the sake of player numbers is not going to help his development.

Yes it does with regards to potentially being included in the squad.

If that's the best for their development or not is a different question and imo what should be the priority with someone as obviously highly talented as Moore.

The club should/will know if he can thrive at Spurs or Aberdeen or Orient or QPR or WBA or Oxford or whatever level e.g. Orient to get game time and if he is flying try QPR so he stays in London and can train with us

Might be getting the amount of time wrong but wasn’t Donley generally considered to be underperforming until about 4/5 months into his loan this season? He adapted after that
Yep
They need time to adapt
I think a loan cos him would be massively beneficial and it’s a mistake we have made before with talented players by keeping them here

I think the dilemma is how the season is laid out. You know within a couple of games your workload for the first half of the season. PL games, CL league format and the league cup. What you never know is your workload in the second half. It could be as low as 19 league games and 1 FA Cup game. It could be 12-15 games more in best case. Then you have to assess the injury situation as you turn into the new year.

Last season we looked absolutely fine heading into the season and soon lost Odobert and Richi for a long stretch. It definitely hurt us.

I think it will be a tough choice whether to loan out Moore. He's not even had his 18th b'day yet.
