Reported as 30 million euros isn't it?
I thought Barca were extremely up against it with their finances and it was going to be free transfers only for them?Kane, Griezemann and Depay up to for Barca next season? Messi to Man C?

YepIf Messi doesn't sign a new contract, their cash flow should be much improved.

Thanks for that.... I did think that it shouldn't be too difficult for them to refinance. If we can carry the debt we do then it should be no problem for a club the size of Barcelona. They just got a €500m loan to help pay their wages and short term debt. Depay is on a free, means they can sell aswell. Koeman has started using youngsters from the academy also.
A good idea really considering they are the foundation of all the great Barca teams. They just got a €500m loan to help pay their wages and short term debt. Depay is on a free, means they can sell aswell. Koeman has started using youngsters from the academy also.

What you can borrow is determined by turnover, profit, assets and existing debt levels. Lenders don’t care what the money is for, they only care about the interest rate compared to the market conditions and the risk of default. We can carry a debt the size we do because our finances are sound and it was a loan for infrastructure where we are only looking to service the interest. You are not going to be able to borrow on those kind of terms to fritter it away on players and wages when you are broke.

I.e..... “turnover, profit, assets and existing debt levels“????The terms of the loan are also determined by the health of your finances. We have very low repayments because the club is well run.
Aguero is going to Barca, isn't he?Kane, Griezemann and Depay up to for Barca next season? Messi to Man C?
Depends. They get more from merchandising than what they pay him in wages. Losing messi will probably hurt them more financially than it will help.
No mate, Messi is a $167M/yr or 450K/day, no way merchandising/sponsorship or anything covers that (or anything close)
It's why Barca were batbrick crazy not to get rid of him last summer or even in January (he has $40M loyalty payment just for making to the end of this season)
When he carried Barca, might be a tough argument that he was worth it, in the last few years, his contract is a financial disaster
El mundo ran a story that tinkled Messi off, legal action threatened but no one denied the numbers -> Lionel Messi Salary 2021: Barcelona Contract Details Are Revealed (the18.com)
The whole 8 out of 10 shirts have Messi's name on is a misnomer IMO. If he left Barcelona then I imagine fans buying the shirt would just get one with the next best player's name on.
