Mauricio Pochettino - Sacked

The players were massively motivated last night, which was lovely to see. It felt like a CL game, some really high level of play.

Let's hope Poch can motivate the players similarly for the next batch of games, we were certainly under-motivated for the first Newport game.

That is one of the issue I can see with Poch structure. In principle he wants the players to have the ability to play every game, so he have trained them to the physical ability to do that. But the mental ability is harder to train; you cannot be highly motivated all the time, is against the nature of human.

I said it in the OMT but I'll say it again here, beware a Poch team scorned.. The man doesn't tolerate performances like we put in against Newport.

Our dominant display against Yanited highlighted that clearly.

Thats fine and I agree, but he has tolerated a lot of poor performances this season.

Lets see how we do on Sunday...

The editors have told their sports department to go and find something for their websites and newspapers sports pages.
Its basic guff!

The team that wins the league generally have a good away record vs the top 6

The teams that dont, dont and thats why they win the bloody thing.

Looking at our HOME form vs the bigger sides:

Emirates Marketing Project haven't beaten us at home for 3 seasons now so their record away to us is very poor (Yes I'm including this season as they always seem to include the current seasons games in comparisons)

Chelsea beat us at home this season for the first time in a couple of seasons IIRC

Arsenal beat us 4 years ago at home and haven't since

Pool have won twice vs us at home in the last 12 or 13 games I think

United have lost the last 3 games vs us at home I believe

If we win some away games vs the better sides it gives us a huge swing and hence why those sides win the league

I don't get it... they say "one old flaw" but I don't see it.

At home we won 10 and lost 3
Away we won 1 and lost 11
So it seems we have essentially the same record as those other teams in the top 4?

Ourselves and Arsenal are lagging behind the others a fair bit in terms of away results:

It’s why I say it’s a huge difference in who wins the league

That difference in the way heads to heads is a 6 point swing potentially

Pretty depressing on the face of it, however an extra column showing each club's average expenditure per point (were such a thing even possible) might look a tad more agreeable.

Really? A lot? Also how do you know he's accepted them as poor performances? All the evidence suggests the complete opposite..

Lets just ignore most the games at the start of the season when we were woeful against parked bus teams then......

Because they continued and we didn't change anything?

How do you know that he tolerated them? What if the work to rectify the problem is not an overnight solution? What if the problem was form more than tactics and Poch thought that the best solution was to play the players back into form?
