That is music to my ears, but Sissoko?!!
If Poch is so careful, why did he Sissoko all down the front of his tuxedo?
He's not divine. Just magic.

He really is the best thing to have happened to our club in 30 years, isn't he?
He has done, and is doing so much good for us but I fear history will not be kind to him if he does not win a trophy

So? Does that make Levy unclassy for talking about other clubs?
What does it matter?
The point is none of what Conte said was untrue, who really cares he said it?
I can't believe how flouncy some fans are about a managers comments, thank GHod we were not challenging when Fergurson was about.

hmm...poch admitting that we're off to a slow start.....not the first time under him...

To be fair to him, our transfer windows generally involve selling players early in the window and then scrambling around in August, or late August, to bring people in. I bet he'd love to at least have some of the incomings in in July. It just means that when the season starts, there's a feeling that we're still preparing for it given we've barely started our transfer activity
Excellent post. The last paragraph is spot on I think. If and when the right deal can be made we'll make it.It's a bit of a myth that is taking on proportions of all of ts own.
Yes, we've had some of those late dealings for sure. As have other clubs.
Last season Sissoko on deadline day/
N'Koudou also made official the same day, although there was clearly something odd about the whole GKN deal, with him being supposedly holed up in a hotel for a month whilst Marseilles sorted out their money issues or whatever.
Wanyama's transfer completed on 23 June.
Janssen's transfer completed on 12 July.
So, half and half early v late.
In the window ahead of the 2015/16 season :
Wimmer : 29 May
Trippier : 19 June
Toby : 8 July
N'Jie : 14 August
Son : 28 August
So both early and late activity. Having three players signed by beginning of July definitely goes against the myth.
2014/2015
Davies 23 July
Vorm 23 July
Dier 2 August
Yedlin 14 August
Fazio 27 August
Stambouli 1 September
A fair spread across the window.
2013/2014
Paulinho : 1 July
Chadli 26 July
Soldado 5 August
Capoue 15 August
Chiriches 30 August
Eriksen 30 August
Lamela 30 August
Weighted towards the end of the window, but some reasonably early/mid window activity as well.
2012/2013
Siggy 4 July
Vertonghen 12 July
Adebayor 21 August
Dembele 29 August
Dempsey 31 August
Lloris 31 August
Again, mostly weighted towards the end of the window.
I got bored after looking up those seasons but if anything, it demonstrates that we are generally doing more business at the start of the window now than we were a few seasons ago.
If the right player is available, at the right fee, at the right wages, at the right time - and most importantly wants to sign for us rather than hedge their bets and see what else comes along - then I don't think Levy holds out deliberately for the fun of the challenge. Not now anyway.
