This is where we need to launch the propaganda campaign.
I would genuinely get that senior analyst in at Spurs and start publishing the referee's performance against the laws of the game.
Take Pawson yesterday.
He should have had A things to do in the 95 mins as the upholder of the laws
He did B things and missed C things
Of the B things he did he got D of them wrong
(D+C)/A probably meant that Pawson performed to about 70% which is simply not good enough.
In the key moments, Pawson missed about 5-7 yellow card offences that changed the outcome of the game as those players simply wouldn't have been able to get away with the professional foul tactics.
I would like to see our club publish this analysis every single week with an explainer video showing the data including any subjective moments. If not, the club should privately work with one of our key social media Spurs gurus, like Jim at OhSoSpurs to evangelise this concept.
If I had time I would learn the laws of the game inside out and do this myself. I'd happily go head to head with Howard Webb's lot who are cheating in their jobs. They don't deserve to get paid.

Easier way, I'd pay someone to do the data, numbers, views against peers, screen shots and replays. Numbers in EPL vs. historical Spurs in Europe. I'd also document how many clubs make public statements/letters/complaints and is there any change in how they are refed after.
Then I'd give to social media channels to drive the engagement, and create the furor. It's clear the FA/PMGOL are way too comfortable ignoring Spurs the club, let them get called into disrepute by others. And if you want to really chum the water, the data is going to clearly show some favorites.

It's an interesting comparison. I wonder how many double pivots Modric sat in during his career. Surely he must have played where there were 2 players allowing him to be that creative?

If in an alternate reality we had signed one of Vitinha, Rodri or Tchouameni instead of Fernandes, nobody would even be suggesting we play them as an 8, and everybody would be scratching their heads if we played any of them as a 10 all to accommodate Bentancur while simultaneously also asking Tonali not to play his natural game to fit in next to him.
I get we have no natural 10 and the manager is determined to play with one regardless, but the best sustained periods of Gallagher’s career have been as a 10 at Palace and under Poch, and while it’s not his natural position Bergvall is also much better suited to the 10 role than Fernandes , and then there is also the wild card of LWB.

The subtle difference here is that none of those other players used to play 10 for most of their youth career.
It sounds like everyone is right about Mateus not being a 10. Perhaps it's similar to Dembele where you experience different positions first to make you better in the one you settle at eventually.

I don't know about Madrid, but Modric was almost always in a double pivot for us - alongside Sandro and later Parker. van der Vaart was the 10
Fernandes, Modric and Ardiles all have similarities. They are tough and strong defensively (mainly through intelligent positioning), as well as being the metronomes dictating the play.

I know for Croatia it was always Brozovic and Rakitic working the engine room for him. At Madrid he had Casemiro and Kroos in there with him. At Spurs it was clearly that 4-4-1-1 with VDVart as the extra midfield or 10. That was the younger Modric I guess.
I don't know statistically across an entire career but I guess managers found ways for the little genius to influence games. In the same way, we accommodated Wanyama, Dembele, Eriksen and Dele in the same team. Eriksen was always the key man for me even though he played off the left.
I guess I'm wondering whether it really is the case of playing only 2 of Bents, Tonali and Fernandez or whether we can find a way of getting them on the pitch together and getting Savio, Marmoush and Kudus on the same pitch.

By that reasoning peak Gareth Bale should have been played as a left back if either we or Real had a injury crisis in that position. I get the point you’re making and if there was absolutely no one else available and the manager remained determined to play a 10 then yes, but there are 3 players better suited to the role, we are effectively weakening the whole of central midfield, again this is not a knock on Bentancur, or his individual performances he is very good at what he does but post injury he is a traditional defensive midfielder with a more limited passing range, this in turn forces Tonali to drop back as the 6, or the deep lying playmaker, which he is not, and then Fernandes is shoehorned in as the 10, Fernandes is a better 6 than Bentancur and can fulfil both the traditional dm role as well as the playmaker, ie a modern day elite 6, it then frees up Tonali to do what we payed £100m for, a box to box ball carrier, that foundation means a Gallagher or a Bergvall would be more effective as the 10.
