Central midfield, it was his excellent last ditch tackle on Grealish which saw the ball fall to Saka for our goal. He is genuinely two footed and tested Pickford a couple of times from the edge of the box. Easily their best player.
 
Is this another one of those transfer not made by the manager? I know its only rumours but we have been linked with him under Poch, Mourinho and when managerless.

Isn't that about 80% of our signings, topped up by a handful of manager requests,

In summer 2012 our whole recruitment (which was very successful - vertoghen, lloris, dembele) seemed to happen while we were managerless/without much input from the newly arriving AVB

Seems like a fairly versatile player that can fit into different systems to me so would make sense.

Good enough to improve us, not quite good enough to attract the biggest clubs, somewhat limited fee. Would be a good deal in my eyes at least.

Won't this be for Paratici to deal with though rather than Levy?
Otherwise Paratici is just a highly paid scout.

Paratici can only use the funds afforded to him by Levy, so he’s still operating within constraints.
