Everton face a fight from West Ham for David Moyes.
With the sack race gathering pace the 56-year-old Scot finds him in the box seat for both jobs.
Manuel Pellegrini is under big pressure at the London stadium after his fifth defeat in seven last weekend. But Marco Silva is also feeling the heat after
Everton ’s alarming 2-0 home defeat to Norwich last Saturday.
Both board are keen to support their managers - but both clubs have free agent Moyes at the top of their lists if their current bosses are unable to stop the rot.
Mirror Football understands he is interested in listening to the Hammers board and is hungry for a way back into football. Moyes has been jobless since leaving the club after his interim contract which expired at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Chris Hughton is also on the Hammers hit-list with the club pessimistic about being able to tempt Chris Wilder away from high-flying Sheffield United.
But Moyes is the man the majority of the Everton board want if Silva is unable to win the Toffees’ upcoming games at
Leicester ,
Liverpool and at home to
Chelsea .
Mirror Sport revealed on Monday that the
West Ham board are deeply worried that they may have to take action to preserve the club’s Premier League status.
Pellegrini’s players have plunged from fifth in the table in September to just one place off the relegation zone.
The club fear the Chilean does not fully appreciate the concern around the club. They are also frustrated by Pellegrini’s faith in hapless reserve keeper Roberto while Lukasz Fabianski recovers from injury.
Pellegrini takes his men to Chelsea on Saturday. A heavy defeat there could spell the end of his reign.
Moyes.... just.... Why?!
