Stupid move on his behalf. Mind bogglingly stupid. I always suspected he'd gotten a bit lucky at Madrid in the CL and wasn't all that anyway but now he's going into a club that needs massive reconstruction. He's about to be found out big time. I'd bet the mortgage that he's not still manager in 12 months.

I thought Zidane had played a blinder leaving when and how he did. He must have been offered a huge transfer budget and full autonomy on ins and outs which apparently is what he asked for before leaving. So maybe he’s played another blinder, no doubt with a huge pay rise to boot!

I just posted in the Bale thread, but I believe it will be the opposite, I believe Bale is finished at Madrid now. Zidane wanted him gone and Ronaldo to stay by all accounts which was agreed but Perez went back on his word after Bale scored that overhead in the CL final. With Zidane now back I can't see him agreeing to include Bale in his plans.
Today Hazard, Eriksen and Kane are the big targets with Firmino, not Salah, as a backup for Kane. Tomorrow it will be a completely different group of players. I did like the fact that Eriksen and Hazard were both said to be going for €125 million.
