Oh, and Wenger turned it down.
Did he, did they say that or did he?

Read that - folks do turn Madrid down. Whether it's loyalty to a current project, timing, or something else. I put Poch in the Wenger mould in this instance. There is no way I can see him leaving. It seems like Madrid are going to make a play for him - Sid Lowe is reporting he is their top target. But there is absolutely no way Poch can ever try and build a club via inspiring loyalty again if he made this move. He goes to Madrid, and he will absolutely need to succeed - if he doesn't, I think he loses a bit of himself. He can never ask a player for their ultimate commitment to the cause at his next club after Madrid if he's failed because he knows he would do the exact same thing as them. Or he can choose to set the example, and be the leader he has built himself up to be. He may go for it this time around, he may decide the time is right, it's not about building a club and creating a dynasty, it's about taking his deserved path to the elite, and hanging out in that company. Maybe he does.
Madrid will try and say to him there is about to be a rebuilding job, and there are a lot of young players that can now be integrating. I can see them making a big push. But I can't see Poch doing it to the players that are all about to sign new contracts at Spurs. I can't see him doing it to Levy. Not this summer. Not when he has talked so much about loyalty. Not when there will have been so much planning that will have gone into making this transition into the new stadium, and what this means for the club. As I said, I don't begrudge him the move in 3-5 years. But this summer I'd see it as poor form from the man, and I just don't think he is that guy anyway.
I don’t believe him, maybe they asked to sound him out (one of a few options) and he turned that down, but not a hard offer.
If their #1 choice Poch turns them down?
Now that would be funny, especially if he took Salah with him
Just noticed the source. Makes it even funnier trolling.

The Rooney Rule, as I understand it, would only mean that more owners would have to find out what a mentalist Sol Campbell is, before giving the job to someone else?
Neither did they go mental and disappear at half time, go hiding whenever it came to derby day or generally show that they are clearly unfit for any job which entails even the smallest amount of pressure.(3) Gerrard and Lampard ARE more relevant. They stuck around longer, won more, were higher profile. Nothing to do with race.
