Because neither their performances nor chances created/conceded correlates to their actual results and position.I can't see where people feel United will fall apart with Moaninho in charge, they don't lose games and have enough in the team to be in top 4. They will always be able to pay top transfer fees and wages which will enable them to stay in that position. Ferguson won the league with a very average team and left them in a mess, neither the next two managers had the style or plan to get them back on track and the current manager gets results, he's not bothered about style, but given enough money and the right signings he could challenge City. Their glory years were built on the back of two great managers who loved the club and developed a culture, its difficult to see any current manager who could fit their shoes.

That luck must end someday.
Simple - intelligence is still undervalued in football. In many cases it's frowned upon.Pardew how does he keep getting a job?

Wasn't he mates with the DoF at West Brom, old teammates or something? He probably knows a lot of people. A more successful (at using the people he knows) Tim Sherwood.Pardew how does he keep getting a job?

In any other field the sensible choice would be an intelligent amateur over an experienced halfwit - after all, if one is intelligent enough then one can master anything. Pardew, Sherwood, etc. just show how in football it's still considered better to be an experienced halfwit.
I am Sol Campbell said:"I'm confident and it's not like it's rocket science to run a football club, especially when you get to that level."
"If you're intelligent enough and a quick learner you will learn pretty soon, within two or three games, what the team needs, training-wise, to survive in that league, get better in that league, to get in the play-offs or even win the league.
"I'm intelligent enough, it's not like I played on a fox and dog pitch all my life.
"I can't believe some people, I'm one of the greatest minds in football and I'm being wasted because of a lack of experience or 'maybe he talks his mind too much'.
"Go to Germany, they love people who speak their minds. They got the jobs.
"I'm sorry that I've got a mind, but don't be scared of that. That should be something you want at your club, but obviously not."

He's a perfect example of just how fudging thick the world of football is. If he can walk around believing he's anything more than a simpleton it says a lot about the world in which he lives.Welcome to the forum rSol!

Statistically they should let in more goals than they do, but their goalkeeper keeps bailing them out.
