Manager Sack Watch

It wasn't so many years ago that we were!!

as in - when we last changed managers........

I think some folk are getting carried away with our run of form, it hardly elevates us into the position of having the worlds finest managers dropping their drawers to sign up

For me, since we got Levy there has been real ambition and attempts at moving the club forward. Bringing in well renowned international directors of football and highly rated managers. It didn't always work out, but we were trying all along. A lot of the managers being hired at mid table and lower clubs seem to me to be just an acceptance of the current situation, a hope of maybe staying up a couple more seasons. Some real action when relegation becomes a real threat, otherwise not much happening.

This seems to be mirrored in some of the transfer dealings of those clubs as well.

A lot of the bottom half clubs could do with a relegation. Take a step back and clear out the overpaid mercenaries. Bring through some youth instead.

Who is going to be first to go? Will KK quite once again? Will Abramowich decide AVB has failed where so many other have.. also failed? Will the Arsenal board finally wise up to Wenger's failed youth policy?

During his first stint in charge he managed to succeed. Three League titles and two FA cups within a period of six years is not something to be sniffed at. However during his second stint with the club he has succeeded in spending over 100 million pounds on players who have 'potential'. How much has this affected the league position they find themselves in? Nada. How can this be though when they have attracted such world class talents as Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll. Will he be gifted these sorts of funds in the summer? Or will the management at Liverpool finally decide to do away with this relic of their past?

andre-villas-boas.jpg

The premiership new boy, Andr?® Villas-Boas. After a successful few years as Mourinho's right hand man this youngster decided it was time to go it alone. Taking control of a relegation threatened Acad?®mica halfway through the 09/10 season he valiantly led them to mid-table security, taking a lot of plaudits along the way. A vacancy at FC Porto played right into his hands, allowing him to take the reigns at one of the top clubs in europe and wow the watching world. He cleans up in his first year in charge topping the league and winning the cup and the prestigious UEFA Europa League. Prior to the 11/12 season the 'oil rich' chelsea snatch this inexperienced manager expecting him to be the answer to their managerial issues. He starts the new league well, but chelsea slowly start to lose form and start to drop down the table. With their chances of champions league football in the balance, how long will he be allowed to rule the roost? Is the consistent form of Fernando Torres to cost this man his job? Or are the pensioners at chelsea no longer as 'world class' as everyone was lead to believe?

Arsene-123Wenger.jpg

The Premiership old boy, Arsene Wenger. He has been leading the line at Arsenal for the past fifteen years. With three premier league titles under his belt in addition to four FA cups, he has had the most success out of these three under-fire managers. With Arsenal's champions league qualification in the balance, due to their poor form in the league, in addition to suffering their largest ever champions league defeat away at the San Siro, he has come under increased pressure from both the media and his own fans. His youth first policy has seen arsenal fall from the top tier of english clubs, his titles were mostly gained with a squad that he did not create, but that he inherited at the start of his tenure at Arsenal. The club's barren spell steadily increasing, over seven years without any silverware. Will Arsene finally admit that his experiment has failed? Will he fall on his own sword or will the club finally lose their patience with him in the summer?

Anyway, to sum up it's basically a poll where you vote who you think will be sacked/quit first. You don't even have to read everything above this, i'm just bored.

I voted for AVB, basically based on the impatience of Roman. Wenger has built up enough good will at scum he probably will be given the chance to try and turn them around. I get the feeling KKKenny could wear an Everton shirt splash 40 mill on Lee Cattermole and tinkle on the Kop end and still would never be sacked. They blindly love him.

Liverpool will never sack KK, he would likely resign if it gets much worse. The fans would revolt if he was ever sacked, being the second coming of Jesus n' all.

Liverpool would have to get relegated before Dalglish gets the sack. Can see Wenger seeing out his contract (whenever it runs to) then he goes. Really depends if Chelsea get top 4. If they don't, then AVB will get the bullet.

pool fans are starting to turn on KK on the internet boards and questioning his decisions. latest one why carroll wasn't put up front to bully deGea.

i suppose the americans watch the boards more than their liverpool management staff.

having said that they're in the running for both cups. if they win the carling cup, KK will be immortalized.

Kenny will resign in "controversial" circumstances beyond his control. His successor will then never be accepted and the fans will turn on the clubs hierarchy for forcing kenny out. Kenny will become a martyr and will be a thorn in the side of any attempt at progress

Nobody can see AVB being given the job of rebuilding chelsea?

He's never done it before no, but to hire and then fire a manager for so much money they are just reducing the amount of mony the next manager will have in dealing in the transfer market. Plus the 'new manager's' club also might need paying off.

Not been paying much attention to Chelsea in the last decade then? :)

Oh i've been watching, just i am curious whether the money to hire/fire your managers is attributed to a footballing cost. As in will it apply to ffp?

It could alter the poaching of managers from other clubs severely...
