Manager Sack Watch 2013/14

Sunderland are clear favorites for relegation alongside Palace. Nobody should take a job like that without certain guarantees or at least a decent payout when sacked. Poyet should perhaps consider himself lucky that someone is still willing to hire him though

Palace could possibly get the least ever points in an EPL season. I really can't think of a game where they might even draw if they don't get anything out of the Fulham home game tonight.

Think palace have been the better team today, they've just been undone by two wonder goals.

Think they'll finish above Sunderland in any case.

There's Sunderland, who they've already beaten at home. Can't see them getting anything against anyone else away from home.

Holloway is a victim of his own success. Palace got promoted when they didnt have the foundations sorted yet. They lost their best player and had to do with a bunch of rejects mixed up with cheap purchases. I like Holloway and dont think his 'sacking' is warranted.

Remember Billy Davies who got Derby promoted way way back, he got them promoted against the odds and got sacked six or seven games in - this smacks of the same situation. What do these promoted clubs expect.

You have to spend to stay in up in the PL, I know Cardiff and Southampton have much more funds but Palace badly needed to gamble and bring in some half decent players. It was the same when he was a Blackpool. They lost out on targets back then because they had a wage limit for players of something crazy like 5k a week, I remember because someone like Leroy Lita or similar went to a league one club instead because they offered better wages and Holloway was ****ed!

It looks like Holloway will go this morning

doesn't make any sense to me, Palace are exactly where they should be, they didn't have a hope of staying up anyway and Holloway has a proven track record of getting teams near the top of the Championship, they should be thinking about next season

Crystal Palace have called a press conference for 5.30pm this afternoon amid speculation that Ian Holloway may be leaving the club.
The London club are currently second bottom of the Premier League with just three points and only Sunderland below them.
Perhaps the Eagles’ worst result yet came on Monday, when they were beaten 4-1 by Fulham.
Holloway met with Palace chairman Steve Parish after that defeat and it is understood that an announcement about the manager’s future will be made this afternoon.

'Ian Holloway: Crystal Palace boss departs Premier League strugglers

Ian Holloway has left his position as manager of Crystal Palace after less than a year in charge.
It is unclear whether the 50-year-old resigned, was sacked, or left by mutual consent but the club have a news conference scheduled for 17:30 BST.'

Hopefully we might see a reaction from the players this weekend and that might snatch a draw, then again, pigs might fly

Yeah, I think we mentioned this on here before but the longest serving managers seem to be those that are at mid table championship clubs who try to sneak into the play offs each year. Actually winning them and going up just costs you your job 99% of the time
