Mac vs Windows

Ignore the top entry!!! (Not that screen size has anything to do with performance )

The bottom two are both Mac Book Pro's (15 inch)

The Old model vs New Model

Why don't you tell T Bone what memory type you have?

BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW JACK brick ABOUT LAPTOPS AND MACBOOKS IN GENERAL YOU RIDICULOUSLY ANNOYING HUMAN BEING. Wtf are you going on as if it's some sort of ulterior motive i have. i started a thread about advice on MacBooks myself just a month or so ago and someone (well actually a few people) pointed me to that site. I then went to the Apple store and the manager pointed me to that site also. how old are you btw?

I compared specifics (i.e. memory, processor speed, and storage capacity) and mine was better than the one thats going for ?ú1400. i thought i already told him the memory when i posted specifics.

You categorically stated that I was "totally wrong" to assume Apple upgraded its internals with new versions

So I researched and found that the newest Macs have faster memory

The website you recommended may well be taking advantage of people that know "jack brick about laptops and macbooks"

I don't want T Bone to be mugged off as well

Yes that is indeed the case. Number of components receive an upgrade often along with the logic (mother) board in order to accommodate those

Yes, a quick 5 minute google and I found that out

The newer Mac Pros have faster memory, which will have a positive impact on the performance of the O/S and software applications

All Kingdawson has to do is download the Crucial memory test tool

But I assume he's nervous about doing it as he spent a lot of money on the Mac

At least T Bone has more information on which to base his decision

You're something else. You really are something else.

You started off your posts by telling me i got "mugged off". Then you state that you "assume" newer MacBooks have better RAM meaning you were not sure at all before stating i had been mugged off. Now you confirm you did your research now which confirms you had no fudging clue before stating i was mugged off. I suggest T Bone goes to a Apple store to get the opinion of a professional before buying and you then tell him to not take my advice. ...Now you state all this was because you didn't want T Bone getting Mugged off:ross:.

You're an unreal poster (and i mean that in the worst way). Get of my cyber dingdong and hop on someone else's you utter pest.

I promise you'll never win this game.

This is great entertainment

The fact it came with Snow Leopard and not Lion would strontly suggest these could well be older models. The exterior is identical - only hardware specs differ on the last upgrade.

Always double check the specs

Kingdawson, the quote above is from an extremely reputable Mac enthusiast

The newer models have the latest Operating System and faster RAM

Your Macbook has the older Operating System and unknown RAM

Why don't you just do T Bone a small favour, and tell him what type of RAM you have?

When you consider all the facts, it really is looking like this website is mugging off unsuspecting customers

Cheers ArcspacE

Over to you Kingdawson

I hope your model is the latest one

To save you the bother, I've done the research for you.

The website that you (and the Apple salesman) are promoting is indeed selling discontinued models

The Frontside Bus on the older models is 1066 MHz

The latest models are 1333 MHz

You can check the timeline and specifications here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacBook_Air#Specifications

If I were you I would make an official complaint to the manager of the Apple store.

He has mugged you off by not knowing the specifications of his own product.

KD - if that is indeed true - the difference in performance would be more or leas marginal so if anything - you ve saved nearly 500 quid for a slightly slower model.

Little piece of advice for the future - be wary when purchasing Apple products from 3rd party retailers. Qunts take chances and one needs to be on the lookout

Cheers mate. Quick question though

if my specifics are superior to another Apple Macbook that has the latest Ram model what would be the faster/better model. Ok i mean if my processor was a 2.13ghz and the newer Ram model boasts a 1.70 ghz processor then what would perform better/faster?

T Bone they are selling discontinued stock from 2010

Hopefully you have not made the same mistake!

You're trying too hard now. I'm happy though because this is showing exactly what i said about you the last time when you tried to pass off your baiting as merely just pointing facts. I like when someones true motives are exposed for others to see:ross:.

Depends on number of factors but a faster processor is generally what it says on the box.

Memory doesnt make your machine faster - simply slows it down less. Hope thaf makes sense.

What s

The performance difference is NOT marginal, it's massive

macbook-air-2011-benchmarks.jpg

The first benchmarks for the MacBook Air 2011 refresh (released alongside Lion) show that the Intel Core i5 processor are at least double the speed of the 2010 Core 2 Duo’s they replaced.

In fact, the new MacBook Air’s are so fast that the speed of the new 1.7GHz Core i5 13″ model is faster than the 2010 MacBook Pro 17″
