I think it would've trickled to the goal line if the keeper hadn't of 'helped' it on, so the goal scorer would need to finish before a defender got back anyway.

Yes, but I still don't think it can be considered a shot on target, therefore it would have had to go down as an OG.

I love this kind of thing, debating technicalities is what pro sports fandom all about.

Ofcourse it can be considerd a shot on target. The gk wouldn't argue. Neither team would be against it, the media wouldn't be and neither would the fans.

Only a certain type of person would be against it. Those people shouldn't be listened to.
