Just back from the Emirates

let's not get carried away with arsenal. they are still a poor side and things will no doubt look a lot rosier if as is likely they get beaten at anfield on saturday lunchtime.

honestly reading a lot of the posts on here you'd think most people are about 12 years old. it's one poor performance in 6 months and we're still very likely to finish 3rd and have a great chance of winning the cup. the last 5 years have been easily the best spell for the club in 30 years.

think back to the 10 years before jol rocked up. several flirts with relegation and we were generally hopeless throughout.

Whatever Harry says publicly just take with a pinch of salt. He says whatever he thinks is needed to be said and there is no point over analysing it. Behind the words though Harry will have been absolutely gutted by this result as will the players. They know in their hearts that they have let the club and the fans down big time. This is one of the worst results in recent years and has made my top 5 poxy result bricklist easily.

There is no crumb of comfort to be drawn from this result. It was an absolute disaster in every conceivable way. If it was just the 3 points aginst some clogger team then I wouldn't be as bothered but there are other ramifications. We got spanked by our closest rival - this result will have galvinised Arsenal like no other - we were utterly outplayed and humiliated on the pitch which is unforgivable - our manager made many bad tactical decisions - the fudgers will be bragging about this for years - potential transfer targets may have doubts about signing. I could go on.

We need a result desperately against Man Utd this weekend or we'll be absorbed back into the pack in a few weekes and frankly I expect to loose against them.

Vent over....going to my happy place now.

That's probably the most depressing post I've read in long time.

I agree, I merely posted in this thread to highlight that its really no one's place to judge another supporter should they decide to leave early during a tonking like that.

But what you have said I agree with 100%, despite the defeat I am not concerned by Arsenal as such, they are extremely unlikely to last the season with no defeats and a likely needed 9-10 wins from the last 12 so I don't see them being a threat to us. Chelsea are more of a threat now because we have to play them so they can directly hurt us.

I actually care little for the actual idea of finishing above Arsenal.....I think we at the moment deserve to finish about 3rd. If that meant Arsenal finishing 2nd, I don't really care, we still would have bettered our best finish thus far in the PL era. I just want us to finish as high as possible, where the other numpties like Arsenal and Chelsea finish are really an afterthought for me.

If we end up finishing 4th or lower despite our really good first half of the season then we will have deserved it due to an awful end to the season because thats what it will take for that to happen.

COYS!
