Jose Mourinho - SACKED

Would like to bring up Graham Potter's comments after the game when asked about Brighton goal.

Something along the lines of "yes it came following a sustained bit of pressure by us..."

He is obviously 100% correct but needs highlighting because it's the entire opposite of how we play.

We don't pressure and we don't persist, and that isn't helping our current run of form.

He is obviously 400% correct but needs highlighting because it's the entire opposite of how we play.

You cannot press with Bale as one of the front three. You could with Kane of course, but then Mourinho chooses not to.

We don't even try and press, I don't believe Jose knows how to work such a system. He can say the words the evidence on the pitch suggests otherwise. You can't press effectively if your defenders are in their own half. He's never been a play on the halfway line type coach no matter the team not even at Real, he's not going to start doing that now.

We never press. Mourinho may say he tells them to press but it's obvious that we don't work on it in training, actually, I have no idea what we work on in training as the team doesn't seem to have any patterns to their play. They're more like a bunch of strangers that have shown up for a pub game on a Sunday.

When was the last time we put a team to the sword under sustained pressure? West Ham first half probably? Which is ironic as since then we've been a completely different team and I see that more from style of play and tactical set up than putting it on the players.

For me, it's clear the problems were on the horizon from the second any self respecting Spurs fan started calling him "MouMou". That's enough justification for Jose turning us in to an absolute atrocity to watch.

Those responsible should be wary of creepy baby-talk nicknames in the future.

Do people really believe Levy will sack him any time soon? I just can’t see it happening under (almost) any circumstances before this season is finished.

If we keep sliding down the table I can see it. Levy's priority is money, and a big part of that is 'brand Tottenham'. At the moment that 'brand' is plummeting due to both results and the performances.

Depends what clauses were in the contract and what the behind the scenes atmosphere is like. If todays performance hints at that then it doesn't look good. I don't see Mourinho convincing Levy that the swuad needs a overhaul having been so openly pleased with the transfer window, summer gone.

Levy may be a lot of things but he tends to act pretty swiftly in these circumstances - 12 games after a CL final and it was bye bye Poch

Exactly. It'll hinge on what the pay off for Jose is, are we going to miss top 4 and stuff like that. I don't believe it's on Levys agenda right now but lose to Chelsea, watch Woolwich pass us and maybe lose to WBA and City and Jose is in a very precarious position.

I can't imagine Levy is delighted to see Dele ostracised either. Firstly, he's an asset whose value is plummeting. Secondly, I think Levy has a lot of time for the lad. He's grown up at the club. Now we have another 20m asset (Aurier) looking like he's out. Throw in an argument with Bale, a lad close to Levys heart, and there are a lot of black marks against Jose.

Obviously the above assumes a lot (defeats in upcoming games, Jose falling out with more players) but its one way I could see Levy seeing the light.

I don't think he will, unless it becomes obvious that the players have downed tools and we keep on losing with no fight and Mourinho throwing players under the bus. We'll see. Not looking too rosy at the moment. If we do sack Mourinho - will Kane buy into another plan with a new manager?

Question should rather be, have Kane and the rest of them bought into the current plan and the current manager? How many transfer requests are we risking under the Jose regime?

Good points. The only reason I see Levy being more reluctant to pull the trigger is, we’ve all seen the way Levy looks at Mourinho in the documentary. He’s literally star stuck by him. He has wanted him for years, and now he’s finally got him. I just don’t envisage Levy contemplating pulling the trigger until at the very very earliest the end of the season unless things get a hell of a lot worse....

I also can’t see Levy sacking Jose whilst we’re still in the three cups, especially the Europa (with its chance to get us CL qualification).

I do agree with that. It’d have to turn extremely toxic for Levy to contemplate pulling the trigger for the reason you mention and because we’re still in the cups. While Jose can turn things that toxic faster than anyone else, we probably aren’t there yet. And as others have said, not having fans in the stadium is a help to Mourinho probably more than any other manager right now.

Agree with all the recent posts - i think we have Jose for the foreseeable unless it goes really pear shaped, and he definitely benefitting from no fans present. I think it was mentioned somewhere that a get out clause could be if Madrid decide Jose is the man to fix their issues, but who knows.

It's getting to the stage with me that if Jose wins us a trophy, i will of course be pleased for us and the players etc, but in a weird way i will be frustrated it is him who has given us a cup as he will no doubt be shoving it down our throats that we should be grateful etc. Would be a nice problem to have, and probably sounds a bit thick, but the idea of him claiming all the credit for getting us a trophy just irks me a bit

There’s a lot of Jose might win us a trophy stuff in here.

Yes it’s nice and we all want to win a trophy the club needs it. But at what cost ? We have sold our soul to the devil in pursuit of Silver.

Ramos won a trophy , so what. Anyone think a league cup will be enough to Keep Kane and Son happy ? I have my doubts. We are shocking to watch and players look like they have downed tools. However It’s not all on Jose.

We have failed as a club in addressing this squad. Lamela , Davies , Dier , Toby etc all been here to long. Eriksen going and no replacement. Lo Celso is not it.

This is a load of problems at the club from top to bottom. Levy tried to fix it with Jose as he did not want to or we could not afford the expensive squad rebuild.

I will say even earlier in season when we won games we were crap and second best in most games. We rely on individual brilliance ? 15 m a year to wing it. Laughable. That’s on Jose. No style , no patterns of attacking play, still rubbish at the back. He’s no better than Fat Sam .

There are a lot of them won’t be wanted by anyone other than West Brom or Burnley.

Levy might have a blind spot for Jose, but he's not blind to results and he's not blind to how we are playing. Unfortunately however I don't think anything will happen before the end of the season. It's going to be a long, hard few months of watching.
Maybe if we bomb out of the EL having cut ourselves more adrift of Top 4 something might change sooner - but then if CL is out of sight, Levy might as well take a bit more time to get a new manager in, unless he goes for a caretaker role.
Another element might be if Kane starts to make serious noises about wanting out. He's the poster boy for the club and I don't think Levy will want to let him go just yet.
But on the whole, unless Jose throws his toys out of the pram, I think we're stuck with him until the summer. I'd love to be wrong.
