Here's a name I've not heard mentioned so far this summer, but he is apparently a target of ours. French central midfielder; 30 years old; great defensive and passing stats by all accounts. A proper experienced defensive head in midfield? I've always said I liked the focus on developing youth; but I think that can be actively helped by having one or two veterans out there with them.

That said; I don't know anything about Clement or whether he'd be good for us. And no doubt there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth as some people see him as just Stambouli 2.0. But personally I like the principle of getting an experienced player alongside Mason and Bentaleb. Anyone know if this guy is worth bringing in?

Saw him live this summer playing in an Europa League qualifier. He's that type of defensive midfielder who doesn't stand out with anything during a game. Mostly interceptions and short passes to the nearest teammate.

was very highly rated when at rangers but it never really worked out. bit like arteta in style.
