FWIW: Premier League figures for Hernandez versus Defoe at the same age (2004-2008)...

Hernandez in 103 PL games:
37 goals (from 167 shots) over 4,844 minutes [96 offisdes]
= 131 mins/goal (24% conversion rate) [50mins per offside]

Defoe in 136 PL games:
44 goals (from 410 shots) over 8,229 minutes [177 offsides]
= 188 mins/goal (13% conversion rate) [46mins per offside]
