January Transfer Thread - it couldn't open and close any quicker

I reckon Moura is earmarked for that role, with Kulusevski taking the narrower RWF

Big change for him if that's the case. He's a really hard working player, but adjustimg to a new and rather specialised role at this point, that would take time. Not a natural crosser from deep either.

Not been tried there at all so far has he? If that was the plan would have expected it to happen once in a while later in games at least?

Not saying it won't happen, but would be at least somewhat surprising. Particularly as it seems Doherty is sticking around unless we sign a new RWB. And Doherty has obviously been preferred to Moura so far at RWB.

Apparently Marseille are desperately offering players around as they need at least 2 off of their wage bill. Have they got anyone decent? (other than Kamara who seems to be determined to leave on a free transfer only). I think we were linked with Caletta-Car at one point a couple of years ago?

I think it will be worth a try - he's got the industry and his crossing is a bit of an unknown. But to me this looks an interesting, pretty balanced, line-up

--------------------Lloris
-----Romero-------Dier--------Davies
Moura-----Skipp----Bentancur-----Regullion
------Kulusevski-----------Son
--------------------Kane

Looks interesting but the main issue for me is his tackling is very clumsy. Moura gives away soft free kicks to often. Can’t be having that in our defensive third of the pitch. Especially as we look fragile defending set pieces in my opinion.

Does it feel that way or is it that you're just looking at the two deals most likely to happen right now and jumping to conclusions?

Several non-Juve clubs rumoured to be in for Ndombele, Gil & Lo Celso
Several players at non-Juve clubs that we have been strongly linked to/bid for, but sure we're only actually dealing with Juventus
What about Premier league clubs? Both ins and outs?

There’s no way Moura plays wing back in my view. He may play there if we are chasing a game like Leicester away though, but from the start It’s Doherty or Royal there until we buy someone better.

Yeah, I agree. I don't see it at all either. I'd also be surprised if we sign a RWB this window too. I thikn we're done with the two Juve lads

Is VDV the only genuine out of nowhere deadline day signing we've had? maybe I'm remembering it wrong but I don't recall us being linked with him at all and then boom, he's outside the training ground in Chigwell.

Don't do it to yourself hahah

It's my natural disposition!
But if we're getting at least two new players in, to replace guys that Conte didn't want to use, that's an encouraging start.
Roll on more moves in the summer that will really determine whether Conte really can boost us back into the top 4.
