Have him join the coaching staff immediately
He takes over from Poch in 5-10 years when Poch gets bored
Vertonghen leads us to the PL/CL double as coach in his first season.

This is one of those where the economics are not the be all and end all. There may not be any sell on value but there is an intangible in having an experienced head around, especially in defence and this is before any other benefit of him potentially risky joining the coaching staff. I’d like us to keep our continuity in our coaching staff so if / when Poch moves on we don’t have to start from scratch but continue with the standards that have been set. I’d like to think that’s what Poch wants too.
