In Ear Headphones

You won't, not on a set of cans or a home hifi system - it notices as soon as you start putting the sound through a speaker with a greater sound range - like the difference between your phone speaker and you hifi but on a grander scale.

As a dj I can stand there and tell if another dj is using illegal downloads - when they're only listening to it through the monitor speaker they don't think it notices but through the main system it really really does!!!

Ps as a dj there's only one set I'd recommend and they ain't in ear ones... Sennheiser hd 25-1 mkII
I've got a pair of grado 325i's I run through a Beyerdynamic headphone amp - from a half decent source and I can hear those differences just fine!

Best in ears I ever had were the ultimate ears triple fi. 10 - they were uncomfy and useless for running but the sound was amazing, even compared the some shures I had that cost twice the price.

I was going to recommend those but amazon says they're discontinued. Really annoying as I lost my pair a few years ago and never replaced them, guess I won't now!

Must be a very high quality headphone to deliver as full a spectrum of sound as you get on full pa rigs - especially with older music from the nineties which was overly reliant on low quality sub bass. Will have to give those a look, cheers :)

I don't listen to much from the 90s aside from pantera and dream theatre mate - we still differ quite wildly in musical tastes even after all these years ;-) but yeah they're magical headphones. I had a pair of hd-25s (not m2 I don't think though) and they were far too bassy for my liking, no separation and the mids were bland.

I've been meaning to pick up a pair of them for a while. I have read some excellent reviews.
Bought a pair of these and I can't believe they were less than £100 - wow! They're lacking some of the bass the shure 315s have but the lower ranges are all there, its just not as prominent and in your face, and they're absolutely multitudes better when it comes to soundstage and detail.

I had a set of UE Superfi pro5s with my old ipod a few years back - this was back when i was downloading a lot of music through torrents and the like so the quality varied from 320kbps to ALAC to 125kpbs. There was a noticeable difference across the board between those earphones and my previous ones (which weren't exactly cheap either) so i don't agree with the poster who said you won't notice the difference unless it's on huge system.

I am using some Xiaomi Pistons which I like because they sound good (to me) and were really cheap.

Any opinions?

I don't know much about headphones and getting an expensive pair will probably be wasted on me.

I need a pair that still work after getting wet. Was kitesurfing this morning and the rain just battered them, any suggestions for good waterproof ones?

I do wish that someone for Xmas would buy everyone who owns a pair of those white Iphone headphones a brand new pair. Im sick of hearing the sound leak from the rubbish that people listen to when I am on the train.

As far as I am concerned the noise cancelling headphones are always worth it. Not only do they stop noise coming in but they also stop the leakage as well. Giving a better sound, that is not technical and may just be my opinion.

I've just switched from Iphone to Samsung Galaxy and those Iphone headphones don't work properly (Volume control doesn't work with my Galaxy s5). Are there some better in-ear headphones that I can switch to that still have the same sort of shape as the Iphone ones because I just can't get on with these bud type ones that come with the s5?

That's the one thing that annoys me with android. Only one button will work on the headphones, so you can pause and skip a track but you cannot change the volume.

I reccomend getting used to the in ear bud headphones, try the different sizes that come with whichever headphones. It it worth it in the long run and A LOT better for your hearing.

Currently I'm using xiaomi pistons (from china) which are compatible with android and cheap as chips while giving good sound quality.

After using bud type in-ear headphones I don't understand why you would ever use anything else. especially if you want to hear the 'bass'.

my wife got given a galaxy as her new work phone, can't believe the quality of the headphones in the box, absolutely awful, Samsung copy everything else from Apple so why not some half decent headphones as well

They make the phone out of plastic. Not sure what people expect.

Just received a pair of KZ ED 10 from aliexpress, paid £10 and they're pretty, pretty good.
Also bought a pair of Rock Zircon (felt obligated with the name) at the same price. Muddier bass in the Rock's, but very good for less bassy music.

Build quality on both beats the brick out of what usually comes with a phone.

Great reviews! Did you pay duty?

Great reviews? Are you taking the tinkle? [emoji23]

No, no duty. Total cost was $20ish and the company I bought from put a $6 value on the package, not at my request.
Don't know about you lot, but due to some ancient postal deal with China, shipping is free to Norway as well.

No nooo! It did have very good reviews (based on the price and the fact you could unscrew parts...).
