I liked Erik Lamela before it was cool

According to Italian football oracle TuttoSport, Lamela won't be involved tonight as he's in talks with Inter over a move.

With over a year left on his contract he can't just wander off and talk to other clubs, can he?
He needs the club's permission does he not.
At worst he would be on the bench tonight so why would the club be willing to let him go and talk to another club? What if someone gets injured in the warm up? Or in the first 10 mins?
Seems highly unlikely to me in the eve of our most important game so far.

The source is Tuttosport.

Tuttosport is an Italian sport newspaper published in Turin, Italy.

Juventus is an Italian football club from Turin, Italy.

It's flimflam with an obvious agenda.

As if Lamela wants to go anywhere. Only someone with no real knowledge of his relationship with Pochettino could believe that. And only an Italian would think he would be interested in leaving Spurs for one of the also-rans in Italy.

It is some of the poorest quality match-day trolling I have seen for some time.

I can’t see how he would excel in the Italian league against organised defences.

He plays like a crab

The people who claim he can unlock a defence need to bring some examples up

The fans there tonight were not impressed

In fairness, he's already excelled against Italian defences.

The Inter story was one of the stupidest stories I've ever seen tbh. Genuinely a new level of silliness.

True
Hence why I wanted him
But right now he is a weak link
People will have a go at me but they were not scared one bit of him. He is predictable

He actually reminds me of zoolander... can only turn one way

Well it’s hard for anyone to unlock an Italian defence holding onto a lead. They defend deep, tight and in numbers. I didn’t see Eriksen unlock the defence anymore than he did and he was there when Juve were more open....

The moment when he slipped by the Juve defender on their goal line and tried a fancy pass into the cluttered area when he had Eriksen waiting unmarked for the lay off frustrated me no end.

But that’s lamelas job isn’t it... Pass the ball in a creative way

Eriksen was outstanding IMO and dictated the play. He was also playing centre mid when lamela came on

And having just seen lamela almost sh1t himself when reacting to lands header ... unreal

You take a walk but you get their first and score

We created more and better chances in Turin with lamela playing.
He had what 15 mins tonight, against one of the best defences in European football protecting a 1 goal lead.

But in Turin we had to go hung ho

Similarly we needed that when he came on

I’ll ask again... can anyone can any examples of him unlocking a packed defence in a game that mattered?

We know he has done it against teams that attack us so he hasn’t room.

For me tonight he was the wrong player.

He doesn’t run at players and has one leg... moura could have done much more being two footed and direct

We didnt have to go gung ho in Turin and nor did we  we controlled the game at our own pace

I'm not Lamela's biggest fan at all, but its hard to blame it on him - he came on in the 74th min when Juve were sitting back. I'd have tried Moura personally rather than Lamela given that Moura commits defenders by running at them and half the Juve team seemed to be on bookings. I don't really see what some people see in Lamela apart from effort, attitude, work-rate etc but a 74th min sub is generally in hope rather than expectation, so its hard to blame Lamela for not doing much when he came on

I agree on the moura sub, would him on for son who was spent.
Wanyama for dier and lamela for dembelle.

He creates plenty, was he not second in assists toberiksen before his injury?

Yes he was

Still ask though... who were they against? We’re they (as I think) the final assist in a 2 nil win or where they the assist for the winner against a team that parks the bus
