No he hasn't taken us as far as he can. I think he can push us on more but i will NEVER forgive him for that Arsenal game. I can take losing, i can even take getting hammered by them but it is my HONEST belief that he only went with an attacking 4-4-2 against them because he knows in the back of his mind he's off so his train of thought is probably 'fudge it i might as well go for it as theres nothing to lose'. That might be the case for him but for us we have everything to lose. Champions league spot, finishing below them, losing players if we don't make CL. He was thinking about himself more then the team imo.

Only thing that fudges me off, is the lack of a reaction from the players when they're up against it.
Forever being told that Harry is a great man-manager. If so, where's the guts to stand up and be counted? Dunno, just comes across like he says a few cheeky-chappy, wheeler-dealer words in the dressing room, but then goes missing during the game. Instead, you have Joe Jordan shouting his gonads off and Kevin Bond whispering in his ear. Not much from Harry though; sits there looking like someone's farted in his face.

That's a good point - these days (having slumped to relegation form over the last month) he hardly even stands up from his comfy chair - simply sits there, wrapped up in what appears to be a Puma-branded sleeping bag and looks puzzled.
Get up and tell some lazy qunts to get a move on, Arry! Shout at them. Motivate and inspire. Show us that you care and attempt to correct what's happening on the field.
Whenever brick goes sour - SAF for example (despite his age) always stands up from his Recaro chair and approaches the byline, commencing with his instructions, etc. Would love to see Arry do that more often.

And this is a guy who the media are talking-up as managing England!? Bloody hell, this is a country who DEMAND that there is visual passion shown by all an sundry in and around their little England team. Can you imagine the reaction from the hacks when England are 0-1 down to Azerbaijan, and Harry is slouched in his chair looking dead as a dodo??? fudge me, they had McClaren out for twiddling an umbrella around!

The issue Harry has is that he is completely clueless in what to do when things are going wrong like they are just now. He clearly has no tactical knowledge and relies upon man management and encouragement to get the best from his players. It looks like it was working for him for a while there, and only after a few defeats does it becoming glaringly obvious. The players like him because he is nice to them, but footballers are not managers, they need guidance.

It never ceases to amaze me how many macaronic fans we have.
If a team has 10 great games it doesn't make it a great team or prove the manager is great.
If a team has 10 brick games it doesn't make it a brick team or prove the manager is brick.
There can be short term factors that can cause both of the above when the opposite is actually true. The lack of patience is fudging ridiculous. You don't judge a team (for good or bad) or manager on anything but a COMPLETE season. Judging prior to that is nothing more than emotional perception and therefore illogical.

Effectively Spurs have no manager IMO. He's England manager now, not in contract but in spirit and in the eyes of players, fans and the press. That's why I said as soon as Capello resigned, if Harry doesnt commit to Spurs I want him out now.
Levy wants to have his cake and eat it. Harry to lead us to CL and a nice compensation payout from the FA. It's looking increasingly likely we'll get neither and that's what you get if you dont make tough decisions.

Had we lost 3 games, spread more evenly over the course of the season and been sitting in 4th clear of Chelsea, would we be asking this question? I am inclined to say no personally.
When you look at recent results as mentioned so many times, we have lost to Arsenal away (form side) Man United at home (Champions Elect) and Everton away who were unbeaten since we beat them at home. We don't have any devine right to win every game......
Finished outside top 4 last season and likely to finish in the top 4 this season....thats progression so to answer the question, he has not taken us a far as he can

I think it's pretty clear that what is happening right here is form. We had a tough run of games, bad form started and it's tough to get out of. Unless you have Emirates Marketing Project's wealth or United's depth and history of doing it every single year, it can happen. There's not actually that much a manager can do.
Some of the things in this thread, were exactly what people said about Wenger up until a few weeks ago. He looks clueless and had taken them as far as he can etc. Suddenly they hit form because their confidence could go no lower and Arsenal look unstoppable right now. Wenger didn't go from genius, to dunce, to genius again. His players have just hit form. And all the while through, Wenger remained calm and back the ability of himself and his players.
We don't need Harry to shout. He's fine tactically, and he knows what he's doing. But we are in bad form, the players lack confidence. No manager is immune to that happening to his players. It's immensely frustrating, but that's football. That's sport. That's life!

The reality of the situation is that if we finish 4th and win the Cup it'll be one of our best seasons in 50 years. Hell, finishing 4th in itself would make it one of our best seasons in 50 years.
But if we finish 5th or even 6th after being at one point 12 clear in 3rd and get beat by chelsea or even Bolton then i'd say it would rank as one of our worst.
