And that it is a predictor of a bad future as our stars will leave as they'll have done all they can at Spurs and will be looking for new challenges.

Ofcourse ! Spurs traditionally have this bad habit of getting satisfied easily with everything ! When we won the Double in 1961, the players must have celebrated too much that they forgot how to win another league title until now ! So, if and when we win our first league title since 1961, instead of celebrating too much, we should look to win the league title year by year ! If Kane overtakes the 34 goals to set record as the all-time top scorer in a PL season, then he should be aiming to overtake the 60 league goals scored by Dixie Dean of Everton in 1928. If Kane equalls the 5 goals scored by Defoe, then he should be going for the all-time Div1/PL record which is 7 goals in a game.:D

Must they? Thanks for that fascinating historical insight and also conflating whatever celebration a team had in 1961 to EVERY SUBSEQUENT squad in Tottenham history. Now we know who and what to blame for our lack of a subsequent league title!
