So Kane is the 6th most valuable player in the world. He is being valued at 122.4m, much higher than Bale ! Even amazing that Alli is valued at 97m as well !

Sorry but that list is horrific! Who in their right mind would pay over £50m for Otamendi? And that's just for starters.

Vardy massively over priced considering he is the latest one season wonder who appears to actually be living to the tag.

Mustafi worth more than Alderweireld?? Lloris not even on the list.

Nathan Redmond higher than Payet. Martial still worth a fortune for doing nothing this season. Likewise Raheem Sterling.

Azpilicueta worth more than Rose, Vertonghen or Walker, maybe that's more bias but, for me, I'd have our entire defence, one by one, ahead of any of their respective Chelsea counterparts.

Kane & Alli will obviously be worth a LOT, but beyond the top ten the names look like a lucky dip has been used.

I believe these ratings use an algorithm that takes into account importance to a team, the financial stability of that team, age, contract length, and so on. So the likes of Kane, Alli and Dier punch way above their weight due to their age...whereas Toby and Hugo will be much further down. Of course, there's also the Levy levy :)

The top 100 valuable player list was compiled by The Football Observatory, not Daily Mail.

The Football Observatory each year publishes a list of the 100 players with the highest transfer values across the top-flights of England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

The list is calculated on an econometric model by the CIES Football Observatory research team from the analysis of over 1,500 paid transfers since 2010.

The criteria taken into account refers to both the performance and personal characteristics of a player, such as their age, position and contract duration, as well as the standing of their club and or international team based on their competition level and results.

This shows that the valuation of Spurs players like Kane, Alli and Eriksen keeps on increasing due to our good form. In 6 months, Kane's valuation has increased from 87m to 122.4m, Alli from 58m to 97m and Eriksen from 36m to 62.2m.

I'd argue that it's a made up list by some lads that has somehow been given credability by how it's presented

Harry Kane has told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport it would "stupid" for any Tottenham Hotspur players to leave in the near future.

Kane and Dele Alli are among several Spurs stars to have been linked with some of Europe's top clubs, but both signed new long-term contracts this season.

Spurs are in contention for the Premier League title for a second season running and will move into a new £750 million stadium for the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

And Kane said: "I'd be surprised if any of my teammates would go now. Something is happening here and we just need to take that last step, which is to win trophies.


"It would be stupid to leave now. We've got one of the best coaches in the world [Mauricio Pochettino] -- maybe the best. We'll have a new stadium soon. The future is bright."

The striker described England international teammate Alli as "a fantastic player" and added: "Tottenham is the right place for him, even if many other clubs want him.

"We've got a great future and he is part of it, so there is no reason for him to leave.

"You've got to decide between earning a lot or following your own ambitions and playing in the best league in the world and winning titles. I don't see any reason why we can't win the Premier League."

Spurs challenged Claudio Ranieri's Leicester for the title last season only to collapse in the final four games and finish third -- and there is again an Italian manager, Chelsea's Antonio Conte, at the top of the table.

"It seems like there's always an Italian between us and the title, but it's not over yet," Kane said. "We went close last May and that experience is going to be useful to us now."

He praised Conte as "a great coach" but stressed: "We're not giving up. Beating them [2-0 earlier in January] gave us great confidence because they were really flying and we stopped them.

"If we play like that, we can beat anybody."

Harry Kane has told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport it would "stupid" for any Tottenham Hotspur players to leave in the near future.

Kane and Dele Alli are among several Spurs stars to have been linked with some of Europe's top clubs, but both signed new long-term contracts this season.

Spurs are in contention for the Premier League title for a second season running and will move into a new £750 million stadium for the start of the 2018-19 campaign.

And Kane said: "I'd be surprised if any of my teammates would go now. Something is happening here and we just need to take that last step, which is to win trophies.


"It would be stupid to leave now. We've got one of the best coaches in the world [Mauricio Pochettino] -- maybe the best. We'll have a new stadium soon. The future is bright."

The striker described England international teammate Alli as "a fantastic player" and added: "Tottenham is the right place for him, even if many other clubs want him.

"We've got a great future and he is part of it, so there is no reason for him to leave.

"You've got to decide between earning a lot or following your own ambitions and playing in the best league in the world and winning titles. I don't see any reason why we can't win the Premier League."

Spurs challenged Claudio Ranieri's Leicester for the title last season only to collapse in the final four games and finish third -- and there is again an Italian manager, Chelsea's Antonio Conte, at the top of the table.

"It seems like there's always an Italian between us and the title, but it's not over yet," Kane said. "We went close last May and that experience is going to be useful to us now."

He praised Conte as "a great coach" but stressed: "We're not giving up. Beating them [2-0 earlier in January] gave us great confidence because they were really flying and we stopped them.

"If we play like that, we can beat anybody."

If/when Kane ever does decide to take the money he will only be doing exactly what you, me and everyone else on this planet would do in the same situation, right?

In fact if I were in Kane's shoes and discovered these comments after having just committed myself to the club despite offers of gazzilllions more, you know what? I'd say to myself fudge you Spurs fans I don't need this, I might as well take the money and be done with it.

So why not spare us your grinding cynicism and instead sit back and bask in the sunshine he brings to us all whilst he's still here, eh?
