Harry Kane MBE

So you’re making no sense. Why are you linking Kane leaving to something unrelated then? It is quite pathetic.

As I have said five times, the Trust is criticising the club for not building the team that would have won things for Kane, which is all he wanted to do.

Not for selling him - that was inevitable. For getting to the point where he had to leave.

If you want to keep tilling at windmills and ranting about things no one said, go ahead.

Honestly
You need to get over here and meet some of these people
For every sensible one you will get 2 Tommy Robinson’s

Yep. The internet gives the ignorant and deluded a platform, and allows others to bite and follow without really understanding what they are signing up to or following.

If they had simply magicked money out of thin air and bought all of the best players in the world this wouldn’t have happened

that’s what any other owner would do

You're right - most any other PL owner would. Certainly any of our rivals would have. Shame we have ENIC.

Also Totti, De Rossi, and Le Tissier, among others.

Totti and De Rossi are the interesting ones. They won Series A and a few Coppa Italias, which is about the limit for a club like them. They are very, very similar to us.

But that was enough to make Totti and De Rossi stay for the entirety of their careers, or at least the meaningful entirety of it.

Kane seemed to me, and a lot of people, like Totti - he would have stayed at his boyhood club if we could only have given him a team good enough to win a few pots. Not even City-level domination - just something, *anything*.

Levy never did. Because that isn't what ENIC cares about.

*That* is what the Trust is angry about. It is 100% reasonable, mate.
Not one of those trust members made a comment when we appointed the managers we did
The guaranteed trophy winners
And the Italian league back then when as broken as our league when it comes to finances

I have no doubt some of them are racist turds, mate. A subset of every fanbase is.

I'm not defending whatever views the ones you've met have. I am defending them speaking out about the Kane move and more generally, being a voice for the fans who hate the terrible decisions and lack of investment of our owners.

That is their job. That is what they do. They cannot do more, mate. If you want them to do more, lobby the government to give fans a veto/mandatory input on some club decisions.

Btw what constitutes a “rant” is it something you find hard to stomach?

Without any malice, are you aware that this outlook is…childish. There isn’t another word for it. Apologies. It is how kids behave. I am all for being a little childish now and again so please don’t take undue offence. We all need to play and have fun and football is a sport and form of entertainment. So by all means throw your toys out your pram that you didn’t get the shiny successful club you wanted and our hero departed. If you derive some fulfilment feom doing that, why not!

Several of those Trust members made the point that signing a top manager and then not backing him is stupid. That is exactly what happened.

And yes, the Italian league then was the Premier League of today. Roma got a lot of major investment in the late 1990s from an owner who wanted to see them win the league, and then they did - it wasn't cheap, but they did it. Won some cups the next few years as well.

And that gave Totti, De Rossi et al what they wanted to stay.

We can do it too. The magnitude of investment is greater, but the wealth of owners entering the league is bigger too.

No
I don’t want fans to be given that voice
Fans are rarely if ever capable of non emotional decisions. You can see that over the last few days
But…
I’d love the government to fix the ownership issues. That wound be useful

What constitutes a rant is screaming like a two year old about something myself or the Trust never said, and then refusing to admit it and instead accusing *others* of being childish.

They do a huge amount of good. We can now order chips on their own and now we can buy beigels as well!

Sorry I am being facetious there. I actually think the Trust serve an important role and do a decent job in much of what they do. A fan voice is important. But I believe they have become caught up in a them v us battle which they are never going to win. And they live by twitter which directs much of what they say and they are strung up by their previous chairs who totally blew the Trust’s relationship with the club Board.
Engage with the club seriously on important things. Protesting against price rise is tinkling in the wind. But focus on the stealthy removal of concession pricing and they have a valid standpoint. Engage the club in a conversation around the challenges of competing against other doped clubs and FFP challenges - this impacts us all and is a grown up conversation. Understand your “enemy”.

And at least recognise the non-win situation Levy was in with Kane.
Agreed. They're a twitter sponge which is unfortunately a mistake with the role they have. You can't gain information or viewpoints from a platform that literally has a live stream of consciousness providing opinions and views formed 99% of the time in an emotional mindset. Yes, they do their own surveys and polls, and that's where they should take their direction from.

Of course, if you're agenda is popularity, then fill your boots. But with the twitter crowd, you better beware.

They *did* do a survey. That *is* where they are getting their views from.

They do it every year, mate. Again, people rant about the strangest things when it comes to the Trust, just because they call our our deadweights for what they are based on their own research - not Twitter. It seems like some take Trust criticism of the owners and the club personally, as if *they* are being criticised.

Well, we disagree on that. I want the fans given more of a voice - they care more about their clubs than the owners do. At least, in our case.

Agree that the government should fix ownership though.

I’m with you Dubai. I know you’ve been Enic out for some time, me for much less time. But we had a real chance to push on after that champions league final defeat.

We had like 2-3 years of spending virtually no money and afterwards we should’ve been more ambitious. We ignored Poch, spent money on the wrong players whenever we did spend - and though we broke our transfer record more than once I don’t think our spending has been in line with the amount of TV revenue that is now generated by any PL club, let alone one in top 4.

Last season ENIC invested £150m but only because of the Saudi Sportswashing Machine takeover. They realised that actually there’s now another contender to keep out at all costs - less the value of their asset come crashing down.

Alas it was too late. Saudi Sportswashing Machine spent so wisely and leapfrogged us in one full season, despite not spending astronomical sums. They showed that we are very naive in our approach to recruitment. Levy’s had 20 years to get to grips with how to run a club. He’s not done too poorly but Saudi Sportswashing Machine showed that they could out manoeuvre him in 1/20th of the time.

We should always regret that we finished top 3 for a few seasons on the trot and that now we may never have an opportunity to reach those heights again.

Should also feel sorry for Kane that he gave us everything for so long but we delivered failed project after failed project.

I didn’t remember Totti winning the league, along with his 2 cups
I had to look it up
The gap in the money in this league is mental. Surely you can see it
Tottenham in our current structure would walk seria A because our real finances are better
We would walk France too (Iexceit PSG are backed by a country) and probably give Bayern a run for their money in Germany again like for like
The game is perfection
Money talks
Our owners don’t have the money to compete
We’re fudged
Unless everything lines up in our favour

and I know you will quite Joe Lewis and his £4B but as I’ve said before he is a shareholder in reality, not an owner in the way you would use the term

Unless we’re brought by someone with pockets that can top up our already huge turnover we can’t win the big trophies

that is what Kane has made clear he wants

even if we made loads of right decisions in the last 4 years we wouldn’t have toppled city for the titles.. they would have just spent more like the have done consistently

that’s what has to change, but wont change I’m afraid
