Still remember that game where he got his 1st League goal, we were stuck on the M6 and very nearly turned back. Got into Villa Park 5 mins before HT, we were a goal down as we got out of the car, but what an ending to the game. Can just about spot myself and the missus in the crowd when they showed the players celebrating in of the fans

Now that this torture is finally over and for us muppets keeping him match fit and playing him in our friendlies. What now? What will we do with the money? Who will we buy to replace him and guarantee 20+ goals a season? Are we going to use the youngsters or will we buy a top quality striker? Or will we stick with Richy up front?

Regardless we cannot replace him. His goals have kept us somewhat competitive and i hope we dont become mid table regulars.

Only positive from this is that he didn’t join a Pl club and i hope bayern lose the supercup today

That's the first mention of getting £86m up front though... any truth in that and wowzers.

Whilst I was in the the "one more year even if he goes on a free" camp, I think another 6 months to a year of speculation (given no new contract was going to be signed) would have been hugely distracting for the team and for Ange.

I am plumping for another CD maybe Topsaba, or possibly the Fulham lad if that is still possible. And maybe we will snap up a midfielder on a freebie. I dont see us bringing in another forward despite links to Lukaku. I think we are going to go for Ivan Toney in Jan

or maybe the other way around, a CD free transfer from somewhere, and maybe Johnson from Forest (heard links to him of late). I just dont see us buying 2 players on a fee, unless they are 2 x £15m-20m region bargain buys

I was (still am) the same, under some romantic misplaced notion that this was the year we win something, fuelled by Ange, the style of football, no Europe, the signings made so far and the ultimate to dare is to do by turning down the Bayern bid.

At the moment I'm now feeling quite raw about it, the only real antidote for me is if the team can click and start winning quickly. Ideally with the majority if not all of the Kane money reinvested.
