What the actual frick. This curse we are under is STRONG.
Teams get injuries. It happens every weekend.
Pickford fancy a loan move?
I’d stick with Forster over that clown. Gazza in a pair of goalkeeping gloves.
Any suggestions who they should have brought?
This one always makes me chuckle. We employ GHod knows how many scouts, and an entire backroom footballing team, at GHod knows what cost to ensure we have suitable replacements. It’s not the job of fans to scour the world for available talent.

You don’t think they would have got someone if they could that fitted the bill?
The reaction is coming from fans not Ange or the club don’t forget
It’s also one of the hardest roles to recruit for … a back up keeper who ideally is Hg, with some experience, can play with the ball at their feet and willing to play second fiddle to a guy who is 28 and at his peak
It’s why he have worked hard in getting better youth keepers IMO
Oh and I don’t think we smoky many scouts at all anymore
Pleat talked about it recently

It's risk management/priorities, started last season a CB or two light but if you look at the LW situation last season you realize how little you can truly cover all circumstances, didn't we have Perisic, Richi, Solomon, Sess & Son all out at same point?
True and that just reminds how ridiculous our injury list has been and seems to continues to be! Those things are rare. But we have 2 back up goalies we never use and Fraser......who I think we all agree on, we needed a better back up

I don't see how we would qualify for getting an emergency loan, as we have 3 fit goalkeepers in the squad. I know very little about Austin and Whiteman, but are they really so shockingly bad that they can't play for a couple of months? If that's the case, why are they at the club? Forster has played well in the games he's played.

Not even sure the club are even considering loaning a GK.
I think they might me considering they never get picked and Fraser gets the nod instead. I don't know nothing about them either

Just can't catch a break. However we really shouldn't be scrambling for a back up....but yet here we are.......
yup we have only 3CBs and our top 2 get injured.
we buy odobert for the first team and he gets a serious injury.
We have 1 keeper and he gets injured too

what happened to this guy. was flying high and made a couple of high profile mistakes but surprised to see him without a club now.
i'd be hesitant.

Interesting to see whether we now put Austin in goal for the EL games. Forster is 36 and his body won't be used to playing 2 competitive games every week. He may need protecting.

I'm not sure why we have that loan rule in football anyway. We have Forster, Whiteman, Austin, Gunter, Maguire and Karsniqi all over 18 years of old. It's not like we have to play kids in a mens game. They are all men.
Out of all of them I'd have Gunther in, but it'd be a massive gamble. He is very very good though...

But that's the club's job!!!!

Of course the club and/or Ange aren't going to say anything publicly. In fact I expect Ange to give Forster a glowing review in the Roma presser.

We clearly have different expectations when it comes to certain ways the mgmt handle things. I hope it works out well for us all, but I won't lie, given the football we play and the importance of Vic to it, I am not confident.

Here's to me being wrong!

Yes but his weakness is a major one IMO. He doesn’t deal with crosses full stop and it causes issues.
I think that's a bit harsh. See the City game for example. He definitely deals with some crosses at the very least.

Outside maybe 5-10 goalkeepers in world football all goalkeepers have real and visible weaknesses either with dealing with crosses, participating in ambitious buildup play or areas of shot stopping.

Most of the keepers who don't are outside of our price range. So we're pretty much left choosing our weakness. Real issues with shot stopping is pretty much a non starter. For me I'd much rather have a keeper with real issues dealing with crosses than one with real issues participating in buildup play. That I think is the case for Ange too.
