I don't see anything seriously wrong with what he has said. Let's be honest, AVB's voice is annoying, plenty on here were saying last season that he needed to clear his throat more often.

Can people honestly say they are not worried about how we will perform this season with a new manager unproven in the premier league based on our start and his performance as Chelsea manager last season? Most people in the football world questioned Levy when he replaced such a popular and successful figure with AVB. That includes the media obviously, Spurs fans, fans of other clubs and ex pros from both Spurs and other clubs.

Ex players are under no obligation to agree with every decision the club makes once they leave. Ex players of ALL clubs have a pop at their former employers from time to time. Look at the the ex scum players lining up to slate them over the past 5 years or so.

Levy is a good chairman on the whole, but people have to realise that not everyone is in love with him as much as some posters on here are.

If Roberts had been critical of Redknapp, I suppose there would have been no problems on here.
 
^ it's the feeding of the medias anti AVB stance that is the problem and something someone associated with the Club should steer clear of doing, at least until the guy has had time to fairly be judged on what he has done here

whether what he said is right or not, saying something negative at this time is damaging to the Club and something I don't think anyone should be supportive of

He can't help it if he isn't in love with the appointment of AVB. Like I said, plenty of ex players criticise the higher ups of their former clubs, not just ex Spurs players.

There is no anti AVB stance in the British media, if we start winning games, he will get praised. The reason he gets criticised in the media is because he has promised far more than he has delivered.

anti avb stance is more than i wanted to say tbf - what i meant was that quotes like this can be used to add weight to any anti avb articles they wish to write/publish etc

everyone should be giving the man a chance to show what he can do, fans and ex pro's all the same - people in a position of (relative) limelight should be more considered with what they choose to say in public

because, as an ex pro, i feel he has an obligation to not stir things up - which is what i see negative quotes about the manager of our team at this moment as doing. there are enough people outside of THFC who are ready to watch Villa Boas fail (and plenty of people on here by the looks of things these past few weeks) we don't need people who are/were apart of Club to help put the boot in

I think he's just voicing concerns that a lot of Spurs fans have, including myself. Can't honestly think that he wants AVB to fail.

To be fair, I have not heard many ex Spurs players come out and say that they are happy with the regime change.

Jurgen - the quotes in the OP read more like a personal attack on Villa Boas' character than anything else, 'voicing concerns' is one thing but saying things like this from the position of a former (legendary) player is nothing but damaging, not just to the manager but the Club as a whole
