Golf Thread

Just booked a golf weeked early June at Hanbury Manor, the course looks absolutely stunning
There has been a few European Tour events there so will be tough I expect

Lovely course, I knew one of the old managers over there, she was a Spurs fan

Its a fair course in terms of difficulty

My pal has played it before and said the back 9 is harder than the front
I need to get some practise in really as not had much of a chance to play lately mainly down to the crap weather

After 34 years of playing golf I had my 1st hole in one this afternoon
3/4 9 Iron floated in on the wind, 2 bounces and then in the hole
Buzzing, on my own so all my pals said it doesn't count because there was nobody there to verify it !!
3/4 9 iron? I'm not sure you can count hole-in-ones on a 78 yard par 3 course...

I played for the first time since October yesterday. Very pleasant. I was "striping it like Tiger" and will probably go pro next week. Or not.

120 yards haha
I did video from the tee all the way to the green and to see the ball in the hole
Mates still said I didn't haha
I nearly had a 2nd one 3 holes later, was 3 foot away from 175

I have developed the yips with my short game. I’m lost with it. Costing me 6-10 shots a round.

Got a lesson booked in and purchased a copy of Dan Greive “The Three releases “ I hear good things about the book. Apparently it’s transformative for the way you treat short game.

Never had this problem before, 50 yards in and I stand over the ball and it’s a mess. So frustrating as I’m driving it like never before after a fitting and finally bedded my p790s in and hitting them nice.

I'd rather hit smooth 3/4 shots a la Tommy Fleetwod than an all out whack
My swing goes to brick if I try to hit things 100%
Used my new 2 Iron today, boy that was sweet too
Blimey, even pros are taking 2 iron out of the bag and using hybrids etc.
I don't even take my 3 or 4 iron out on course any more, pointless to carry them around with me.

I've struggled with my hybrid for a while now so gone back to a 4 iron, the 2 iron if my fairway finder if my driver is a bit wayward

Well done marky, bet it was a great feeling. 40 odd years and still not had one.

Sorry to hear that mate, happened to that in my darts game, I am getting better of it now I have gone back to the game but its tough, its hard when you zero in on a target, that fear of missing it overcomes ability to take a shot or throw a dart, its a git.

Let us know how the books is pal

Cheers fella , sorry to hear that. It’s a weird one I’ve seen it with some friends I play Golf with and always dismissed it. Then it happens to me. The brain is a funny thing.

Good luck getting back to playing darts freely.

Yeh, happened to me with Putting, but as you say when free wheeling, zero issues.

Thanks pal

Basically at the course currently being used for the USPGA an 18 handicapper would shoot between 120 and 135 hahah

Does Look very tough, but I have to say a bit of a boring course as well, not much character to it?

can’t see past Koepka today, but hoping for Hovland (realistically), or a Rose/Mcilroy miracle.

Hovland has had 3 amazing rounds in the last 3 majors and just fallen short when it matters, today could be the day...Brooks I feel could fade like he did at Augusta and that is a by product of Liv 3 rounds golf
