Gareth Bale

He looked fudged after 10 mins, going to take a good few games until he's up and running. Hopefully he starts in the Europa and can play a good chunk of the game, get those minutes under his belt.

Absolutely. He's just not match fit. HIs missed chance near the end looked like the shot of someone who'd done the hard part but then ran out of steam.

With our current squad, and a manager who's a damn sight less sentimental than Poch, perhaps the Europa League really is a good thing this season?
 
Bale had the perfect chance to open his account, settle our nerves - he did so well to get into the box to shoot, but i was so surprised it went wide... He needs game time

He wasn't out of steam. It was an error of judgment. He tried to smash it in at the near post, but the easy option was to just roll it into the far corner.

I thought that initially,but Fabianski had actually taken up an good position to block that - leaving the near post wide open.
He still should have scored.
 
Some of the pace will return, you could see when Kane put him into that chance yesterday that he looked laboured, reckon he will quicken up a bit but nothing like he was. The skill he showed to make the chance excited me, not so much the finish...

He needs games
We can see the change in players like PEH who was really really slow vs Everton and now looks ok pace wise
