If they are both signed, you would really have to think it means he's gone. Would love to be wrong, and for this to be a fulfilled promise to AVB and Bale of a title push.

Unbelievable isn't it.

Dunno if mentioned but is it possible that Levy has agreed everything with Madrid but has held on announcing Bale's sale until he has done his transfer business? At least that way, clubs aren't trying to have our pants down knowing that we have a wad of cash burning a hole in our pocket.

Levy is many things but he ain't stupid and having dragged these things out to deadline day before and been left with no time to buy replacements, maybe he's thought of another way to deal with the problem?

Signing Willian and Lamela would really soften the blow if Bale is going, obviousy would be fantastic if he stayed with all the new faces.
But an X1 with Saldado,Willian and Lamela in it, backed up by the monster midfield we are building, should actually be a more of a team than we were last season, and not reliant on hoping Bale produces a wonder strike.

As daft as it sounds, selling Bale could make us a more effective team

So if all these deals go ahead and the figures are correct

We would have sold Bale and in return got Saldado,Coentrao,Willian,Lamela with the odd £1m in change.

Sell Bale and top 4 is gone. As promising as players like Willian and Lamela clearly are they will take a season to bed in and adapt to PL. But mainly because we no longer have a game changer in our squad that all the other top teams and Liverpool have.

According to @dimarzio, Spurs have agreed on a £15m valuation of Coentrão as part of the £93m deal.

Skeptical @spurspanyol is still skeptical, though: If we sign Willian, Lamela & Coentrao and Bale signs for Real I'll declare @dimarzio as the greatest living journalist of all time.

Calls him "the Italian Guillem Balague." Others have suggested he is mates with Ancelotti, though.

We'll see, I suppose...

We could look back in two years and thank our lucky stars that Bale left, and not be sad that he went on and became a true world class star at RM, but grateful that a true worldly passed through our club that raked in so much money when he left that it changed our fortunes for the long term.
