Same. The decline has been so rapid although I thought Verts had an ok game yesterday.
So did i, the problem is that i do not think either of them can do it on a regular basis anymore.
It's shocking to think that it is only a year since Dortmund. He was unplayable that night.
TBF the team was unplayable that night but he was SuperIt's shocking to think that it is only a year since Dortmund. He was unplayable that night.

Lamela !?!?
There isn't much between Moura Bergwijn and Lamela.
Hopefully Bergwijn manages to step it up towards the level of Son/Alli(at his peak)
when was peak Alli?
2nd season?
Some Dele FACTS...(not necessarily for you but in respect of a few leaving him out (I know you didn't).
Up until Kane's injury this season he had 6 goals and 3 assists from 12 league games. Was right back on track for me. Regularly covering the most ground and producing moments of magic that we'd seen previously, (Man U goal, Brighton goal, West Ham assist).
Before this season (All domestic comps):
15/16 - 21 goals/assists from 46 games
16/17 - 35 goals/assists from 50 games
17/18 - 31 goals/assists from 50 games
18/19 - 15 goals/assists from 38 games (Post WC fitness issues and playing deeper a lot to cover lack of options in squad)
I think the 17/18 season seems to slip peoples memories for some reason.
And by the way - James Maddison who was considered by many to have had a cracking season last season managed 14 g/a in 38 games. Crippled Dele playing deeper loads managed more.
We've got a one off talent here who by my reckoning has only struggled on 2 occasions:
1. Post World cup playing at less than 400% and out of favoured position.
2. In the absence of Kane, Son and Eriksen whom he has obviously done most of his good work with in the last 3/4 years.
Keep the faith!
You may not watch many games from that comment
- Dele's issue is he often plays (from first season) complete brick for 87 minutes, then pops up with a goal or assist (usually after missing 2-3 absolute sitters in same game)
- The best I've seen him play is when we got the Son, him, Eriksen movement and interchange behind Kane working.
He unfortunately can be a luxury player, a very effective luxury player but when put in a side decimated by injuries and with key players off form, he was exposed in my opinion.
How you play Dele may depend on what do we want to play
- In my opinion Spurs needs to move away from attack/width coming primarily from FBs (ours aren't good enough and there isn't a glut on the market)
- We need to leverage our significant strength in AM players to produce the threat
So lets look at lineup in a full and fit Spurs accepting the attack has to come from midfield
Keeper, back 4, +1 holding player is a given
Kane plays
So we have 7 slots taken, 4 slots open
To me, Son & Lo Celso are also a given, so two slots left
Those two slots
- 1 alongside the holding player (Dele can play here, but really don't see the point. N'dombele fit should own this)
- 1 attacking (here you have Bergwijn, Lucas, Lamela, Dele or even Parrot if we decided to be brave and really try two up front)
I get Dele's abilities but I don't see him as a given in this side
- If we play counter attacking the pace of Bergwijn and Lucas is better suited
- If we want a bit of bite and energy, Lamela probably a better option
Could a Dele at top form be a given in first 11 = yes
Have we seen that player consistently in any recent times = no
Here is my controversial opinion
- For the right money I'd sell Dele is we had a top level DM option lined up to use said money on. (I wouldn't sell Kane or Son unless they forced it)
You say I may not watch many games by that comment but when has he struggled apart from the 2 scenarios I gave?
You've agreed with me on my point about Eriksen, Kane and Son, and I think that goes hand in hand with the performances very recently which I agree were below par, but were fine until Kane got injured....would you agree?
I don't agree he is a luxury player - he regularly covers the most ground and is a very disciplined defensive attacking player.
