Fraser Forster

With Forster you know what you are getting, a bit like Davies, they are reliable when needed. But they also bring some calmness to the chaos that's going on around.

He isn't going to be rushing off his line, or pushed into his own net at a corner.

Played well today, and the reason why we still came out with a point.

I’ve not seen the game, are people still calling for a replacement signing in Jan or do you think he can be a reliable deputy?

I'm always a fan of having a replacement in before a player leaves. If we genuinely aren't going to keep Forster beyond this summer then shouldn't we be finding his replacement anyway?

He was solid today, which is good news.

I think he's been fine. Better than feared.

Think it's still a bit early to say and the club will see how he does over the coming weeks.

If a longer term backup option is available in January that we otherwise would have pursued come the summer we may move imo. But right now it doesn't seem a priority.

Still early days, but been good so far.

If this is representative for how good he will be over some time while Vicario is out he'll prove himself a worthy backup GK imo.

I agree, it always amazes me that there are fans who moan about our back up keepers not being good enough. IF they were as good/better as the first choice then you would think they would play more often.

The truth is that they are second choice/back up for a reason.

Exactly right. Truth is, he’ll probably cost us a goal or two if he plays for a couple of months but he saved a few yesterday and made an unbelievable save v Roma on Thursday.

He’s a decent back up.

brick my pants when he starts making those passes into midfield.

But made some decent stops. Has stepped up well

Great. He made two or three top saves. However, his inability to read key moments, or be able to actually play football from the back, is costing us. Before the set-piece which led to the goal, he tries to prevent a corner that wasn't one and spaffs the ball up into the air dangerously. He also pinged a couple of awful passes centrally which we got away with (one at his redemption).

He is a solid back-uop goalkeeper if you need someone in the League Cup. If you need a proper keeper to come in and be commensurate with your keeper and the system played, Fraser is not your man. No-one in the side looks comfortable passing to him/involving him...
