He may as well make it 3 in a week....

Yeah, was good. He's never going to be great, but perhaps showed why he's still second choice.Made a couple of important saves plus a bit of sweeping to keep that all important clean sheet.

Wouldn't be confident if we had to trust him for an extended period of time in the PL. But that's been the case with most of our backup goalkeepers over the years.
Drago and Davies were struggling at the passing gameHe seemed to be better with his feet than Dragusin last night, which I wasn't expecting.

Fully agreeThink the point Ange keeps making is relevant
If you don't give players match time, when they are needed, you can't expect them to be up to speed.
I thought Austin was awful in preseason, (aside from 1 good standout save I remember) I think it's pretty clear we need to shift all the back up keepers and find better, more suitable back upsdidn't know where to post, Austin as backup keeper, is he that bad, he cant get ahead of Forster
And now we may have to use him for quite some time. So can we have an emergency recruit or not?can't believe he is still our #2
can't we afford a better keeper who is willing to sit on the bench?
or if the other two younger aren't good enough - we didn't we get rid of all 3 so we can afford a proper #2.
good guy, nice character, fun personality are secondary - competence first please.
He will no doubt improve with game time, just like Davies did at LCB.Hopefully he will be fine... For sure he'll "cost" us goals Vicario would have stopped. Question is how many...
We've seen enough of him to know that he's not the keeper he once was, but we haven't seen enough of him to know how good/bad he is over a bit of time. Hopefully Ange and the coaches made a decent decision sticking with him this summer, time will tell now.
The risk of this situation is why Spence wasn't registered in the EL squad. Time for Forster to prove he was worth that decision, or not.
