Seems crazy that any intellectual property rights can reside in a fixture list. Tis ridiculous. Appears the European court of justice (ECJ) feels the same way too.

So maybe things will change soon. After all I fail to see how, if I write down Spurs' fixtures between now and the end of the season, I could be infringing any IP rights. Think of all the parish councils that publish bus timetables in their magazines -are they all infringing IP rights?
"It is also possible that the ECJ could endorse Mengozzi's opinion but reserve the right of national courts to decide whether sport is a special case in copyright terms."
As you were, would be my guess.
