Fixture & Ticket News 2018/19

I see long standing members getting shafted again,.....7000 members tickets available, can't understand why we're in the same pool as johnny come latelys, people who've just joined in the last few years.

Can't understand why if you been a member say for 10 years or more, have an extra window to buy their tickets, you know the ones who were there in the late 90's/00 when we were brick...

So I joined my nephew as a member 5 or 6 years ago when he was around 10. He does now have a season ticket but if he were still just a member, would it be right that he would always have a lower priority than other members just due to age?
I am not unsympathetic of your point, but even length of membership doesn’t mean someone turned up to every game when we were crap.

Length of membership doesn't count!!...do you work for the club?...i don't think you can can put someone in the same pot with someone who is only 10 to someone who has supported the club for over 40 years ...happy days if you had a half a grand lying around to buy a season ticket ,i couldnt at the time.

Quite simply the first couple of hours of the ticket window, members whove been a member substansive number of years shold get priority ,amazing a few years back i was about twenty points away in getting a cup final ticket, now i wont get one in my life time.

As I said I am not unsympathetic of your position but I don’t think it’s as easy as having a cut off of xx years. What should the cut off be? What if someone went regularly in 1990s, kept up membership but has only been occasionally each season since that?
How do younger suppprters build up allegiance and an attendance history if they can’t attend because of 50 year old+ supporters having priority just because they went to games in 1993-98?
I just don’t think there is an ideal way that will please everyone.

Couldn't they reserve a portion of them that are then awarded on the basis of loyalty points, first come first served is tricky regardless of length of membership as it really boils down to can you get online at a certain time. If not then chances are you can't attend the game.

I think they should do the same thing with away tickets - say reserve 5-10% for members which can then be awarded on the basis of loyalty points.

Season Ticket Prices for 2019/20

The Club can announce that we shall be freezing the prices of all Season Tickets for the 2019/20 season.

We should like to thank our Season Ticket Holders for bearing with us and supporting the team at Wembley Stadium during what has been a challenging time. We acknowledge the inconvenience caused by this unique set of circumstances.

Season Ticket renewals will open on Tuesday 22 April with the final deadline for renewals being Friday 17 May. Full details on payment options will be communicated nearer the time.

Yes, I think that would be fair.
But to @a spur from swansea ’s point, that is not linked to longevity of membership.

The youngsters should have an advantage here as they can get online pretty quickly, whereas the older fcukers probably dont have the internet and wont be able to remember how to switch the PC on if they do anyway.

Ok, so currently trying to get 2 x premium matchday tickets out of Spurs (vs. Palace) and it's not looking likely. Thomas Cook appears to be the only option at £349 per ticket but it includes a hotel room I have no interest in. Found another official reseller offering the same price minus the hotel but in the North stand behind the goal line!!!

Can anyone advise if there are any other options open to me?

Well, my premium seat costs £187'ish, so if you're getting 2 seats for £349 with accommodation I'm reasonably impressed - but as it's for 2 I say rip-off.

That said, first game, and all that. Sell the hotel room on and drink through the night.

I also sympathise but have to agree with @Glenda's Legs. I've been a member for well over 10 years, going regularly during that time. Never been able to afford or commit to a ST.
I've since had children and been taking my eldest daughter since she was about 8 (now 14). She loves Spurs and it's a joy to go with her. Proper Dad and daughter time doing the thing we love.
However, to use your way of ticketing, we'd likely never get to go together, as my "time slot" wouldn't allow me to buy her a ticket. If I waited until she could apply, it's unlikely there'd be any tickets left.
How do you work around that?
I'm all for rewarding those with some longevity, but the club is a business and wants to attract the future generations. As parents, we play a part in that.

My thinking has always been, if you want to go that badly, you'll do what you can to get online or on the phone and get a ticket! When 10am rolls around on tickets day, I make sure I'm armed with all the browsers I can find. If I want to go, I make the time and plans to give myself the best chance.
Of course, if you're not in a computer based industry that can be tricky. But my point is if you're that desperate to go, you'll find a way to be available when they come on sale.

Hi Whiffler, yeah, I wasn't clear with my original posting because that was £349 was per ticket  I get it, if I want the priveledge as an overseas fan to attend the first match, I have got to pay the price... Will also be travelling with the Mrs and our youngest son who won't be attending the game so we'll have a hotel booked elsewhere as the trip is to celebrate our 10th anniversary, my birthday and the opening of the Stadium (well this was the plan).

LemonadeMonkey, thanks for that link, bit disappointing in terms of the North upper seats, When I looked at the Thomas cook website for the original opener against L'poo the seats were on the west lower and included a complimentary package, meal, access to lounge etc. I think I'd rather pay the Thomas cook price (assuming it's the same package they open on Wednesday) for the wow factor and experience vs. North Upper.

Regardless of all this, so excited we're going home :D COYS!!!

I presume the number of 7000 is still a carrot and stick number,if the number was 12,000+ say then there wont be demand to become a member and the club can't justify the £50 membership then. 7000 is a number that will create demand to become a member still i presume.

With Ade's reply ive gone through all that ,registered my daughter when she was 6,then a few years later took my daughter to some games but the distance was a killer at the end of the day,the 400 mile round trip etc,so she couldnt be bothered in the end .My point is that we gone through one process of being a member first....then getting a season ticket if you wish (Longest ive seen was someone was 52000 in the queue to get a ST) is that the rest of us regardless of length of membership are in the same pot as everyone else. If you registered your child a few years back ...fair do's well done for your commitment, they've been a member for good number of years now, but is it fair that I could join today with no previous commitment be in the same pot for these 7000 tickets ,as someone whose paid their fees of £50 last few years,£40 before then,£35 etc etc totaling over£500 over the years.

Who knows they could introduce a points system for home games perhaps.

Guess the problem with that is that, particularly with the rumour of only 7000 tickets available, and the increased demand due to new stadium, is that we create a scenario where the strong just become stronger and the weak become almost non-existent!

Oh, and then the issue of reselling just to bump up loyalty points.

I think that's a little unfair, there's plenty of reasons why you can't be online at 10am on specific Tuesdays - you are probably ruling out half the workforce I'd expect. What about doctors, nurses, teachers, trade people, retail and hospitality staff etc.

I think they've done a bit of a booboo with having so many St's IMO.

What if 25,000 of those ST holders are complete bellends and don't sing or cheer, and just clap and eat tempura prawns at half time?
Bit risky as you're committing yourself to having half of stadium full of bricky fans each home game and all just for the money. Could end up having an atmosphere like the Emirates.
