Between Richy's beautiful finish, between Bergy's glorious outside of the boot switch pass, between Brennan's classy goal, between Frank's enthusiasm and organisation, between the (seemingly) incoming Eze, between the masterful Maradonaesque gravity of Kudus, between Romero committing to the club...I'm getting excited about what we can do this season, next season and beyond...finally it feels that we have left the shadow of Poch properly, first with the Europa League win and now with the current state of vibes..

...I love feeling this way yet I look at myself in the mirror and say 'damn fool'!
This is the ride, always has been, always will be, and this is the relationship I've had all my life and will have all my life.

I have a chronic condition and it's called unconditional Tottenham Hotspuritis! And I will never try to remedy that with things like 'common sense'!!!

Steady on mate, Frank has won one, lost one so far.

Just joking - you're right to dream. Everyone should dream - that's what football is about, as Ange once said.

Personally, I think one of the reasons folks are feeling more optimistic now is because Bilbao lifted a huge weight lifted off our shoulders. We might not even have noticed it weighing us down, but it was there all the same - and football became more and more centred around that nightmarish quagmire of wondering when it would be our turn, when we would break the curse and finally win something again.

The fans felt it, and every season added more weight to achieve something. 17 years of pain, of being the bridesmaids, the background to someone else's happy story, sinking to our knees in despair in the background while life's winners jumped in joy again and again.

I guarantee it was felt throughout the club, from the stands to the pitch to the dressing room - the suffocating miasma of craving success and dreading failure.

Bilbao exorcised all that. In one moment, all the emotion of seventeen long years was vented into the starry night sky.

And now, everything just feels....normal again, maybe? Just the feeling that anything is possible, that we're not falling behind everyone else, that we can win just like anyone else if we put our minds to it. The space for optimism has returned.

I don't think Ange was perfect. But he's earned a place in my heart next to Poch - and I'll always love him for giving us that moment of catharsis. For letting us breathe again.

Can definitely relate, and I don't want to learn.

Think the squad has been moving in a good direction for a few years. Essentially since Paratici came in and started signing players like Udogie and Sarr with more of a long term focus than we'd had for years. Despite some real ups and downs since then we've managed to keep moving the squad in a good direction.

Let's see what Frank has to work with when the window closes. I think Frank will do well, but how well will depend on what he has at his disposal.

For now. Some optimism to keep building on the EL win, which we definitely need to do.

Definitely feel the most positive I've felt about an appointment. Well, since Poch really. You have a PL-experienced coaching team, with a good philosophy fit for the club: which is that they adapt their system and philosophy to the resources available rather than expect their philosophy and system to be invested in by their club.

Mourinho, Conte and Ange. All poor choices from the start MO due to this essential point of compatability with the way the club operates.

It sounds very pragmatic, but my confidence is building as I know already we won't concede over 60 goals again this season. You have nothing in football if you don't do the basics well. We didn't do that for most of the last 2 years.

As others have said, some very good work has been done building this squad for something like 4 years. It needed someone that can mould and optimise it into a consistent football team. I'm genuinely hopeful we have our man now.
