FA Cup Semi Final OMT ***Tottenham Hotspur FC v Manchester United***

How utterly brick will this season be if we fail to get top 4, Chelsea get in, the Bindippers win the CL and The Scum win the Europa.

It’d be typical us to allow that to happen.

The past two times Kane has played he hasn’t been given great service either, so it’s not all down to him and his form.

True but he usually makes something happen himself and the last two games he’s looked like Clark Kent in Superman 2.

We don't win big matches, beat United in the League, lose to them in Cup Semi, beat Real in the group stages, lose when we get to the knock out phases... Look at the Chelsea game when we were chasing Leicester for how we play when it matters.... Infuriating.

I disagree. The United league game was a big game, as was the Madrid CL game. The difference in knock out games is that you don't get another go if you lose. I am sure that most of us would have said that this was a 50/50 game going into it. We didn't get the rub of the green, Kane was anonymous and we made too many mistakes. That's not fate or a lack of preparation, that's losing because you were the worse team on the day.

Personally, and it’s easy to say with hindsight, but I think it’s more a case of Kane being poor so it means we’re carrying him and that’s putting everyone else under pressure.

Maybe itd have been better to leave him out until he was fully fit. Would have taken some balls to make that call though.

That could also be true. He hasn't looked good since coming back. It could've been different if he'd got his studs to that chance minutes after Dele's goal.

Yup. It’s great when a silly mistake leads to a goal that changes to vibe of the whole game. Especially in a semi-final. I love that.
I am not excusing the mistake, it was costly, but I like to take a more holistic look at the game rather than focus on isolated incidents. Mistakes happen but IMO this incident is not the main reason why we lost. If all it takes is one goal in the first half to break our spirits entirely then just maybe we are just not mentally strong enough (I refuse to call it winning mentality). How many chances did we create in the 2nd half? tinkle all really.

That’s what make these cup games the real ‘big games’ though. Because if you lose that’s it, and we have a habit of losing them. Yet Man U lost to us at Wembley yet still finishing ahead of us in the league because that league game isnt as crucial...

If we don’t qualify for the CL it will be a complete disaster irrespective of what else happens.

It would be a complete disaster but Chelsea getting there ahead of us, The Scum getting back in with all the Wenger flimflam that would entail and the Dippers becoming Champions of Europe would be some dose of salt in the wound.

If it happens, I’m done with football because we’ll be officially cursed.

Yep. If you toss a coin 100 times, you will get runs of heads and tails. It happens. That's why you should always priorise the league over cups, if you are half way decent. Still gutted though.

I love Poch and would give him a lifetime contract, but you've got to be able to blame him for our poor showing today. After they equalized, the game went exactly as they wanted, and we had fudge all to counter with. At least its easier to swallow when you're brick. Just no urgency or creativity going forward today. No plan B today that worked. I'm tinkled and tinkled off now, but tomorrow I shall still be a Spurs fan, and thankfully, I'm not a united fan, despite them being in the final.

Just spoke to a united fan. Sure, they win brick, but due to the way they play, I'm sure they're experiencing more frustration over a season than we do. We're generally just a better side to watch. Poor today, but I'd be fudging embarrassed to support united, what a plastic arrogant clam show they are.

You’d have to toss that coin 100 times for us to get one win:D Our squad is big and good enough that we shouldn’t have to prioritise one or the other. The way we are going we will just be doing an Arsenal of just getting top 4 each year and that’s it...

It was crucial at the time though

But today only matters today... cup games are decided that day hence why you can’t save anything

It was only crucial at the time because it was against one of the big 6, there was months of the season still to go it didn’t have any real impact...
