European semi final

For those considering a Lofoten visit before the game, you could fly to Evenes airport (via Oslo), rent a car, drive all the way through Lofoten (5 hours driving) and take the ferry from Moskenes to Bodø.

Or just drive from Evenes to Bodø (almost 6 hours), which is considerably less scenic.

Starting next weekend there will be buses replacing the trains on some parts of the journey as well due to maintenance work on the tracks.

For anyone going out to Bodo but not having booked flights yet. Below from Sport Options.

Dear Spurs Fan,

Thank you for your interest in the potential trip to Bodo.

We apologise that it has taken a few days to get back to you. Please be assured we have pushed for answers all across the long Easter weekend but many of the people in slot co-ordination and at airports have been unavailable until today. The main issues were handling late night in Bodo and Luton and also over coming guidelines for noise restrictions and limited night time movements.

We can confirm that we can operate a DIRECT NON STOP flight Luton - Bodo - Luton with the following schedule.

All times local

Depart 8th May 07.45 - 11.40 arrive Bodo
One of the great attractions of this trip is that on arrival in Bodo it is actually possible to walk into the town centre then hopefully enjoy some beers, some amazing seafood and soak up what should be a unique one-off experience, especially for a semi-final.

Early evening you can walk to the stadium.

After the match it is about a 10-minute walk back to the airport. So, wander back to the airport and check-in for the flight home.

We have to consider the possibility of extra time and penalties.

Return DIRECT flight, local times .. early hours after the match .

Depart Bodo 00.55 and land back to Luton 02.50

Cost including all airport taxes £549 per person.

We intend to go on sale at 9.30 am tomorrow morningsubject to significant interest and response to this email.

Please reply with numbers if you intend to book. We would really appreciate all positive responses as soon as possible this evening ...thanks .

The numbers who initially registered interest would be enough to cover the flight. Now that you know the details and price we need to know if you still wish to book.

All being well we will be on sale from 09.30 tomorrow morning.

Thanks for your patience, with Easter and this somewhat out of the way destination it has been challenging to get to this point.

The booking link below will be live from 09.30 if numbers look sufficient.

Have Southern Rail won the franchise?

You don't know how good you have it. Infrastructure maintenance in this country is so far behind we might as well tear it all up and start over. The trains are barely running anyway as rain or melting snow has washed away a bridge or caused a mud or rock slide.

All long distance is single track, so we end up with very few daily trains and it takes forever to get anywhere. If politicians were actually serious about the environment they'd invest in double track, high speed rail between the major cities rather than just making it super expensive to drive or fly.

@Jordinho , @Robbo , @Rorschach and any others who (i believe?) live in Norway: do you give us any realistic hope of getting past Bodo Glimt?
I worry more when we play a team with a very tactical manager vs a team with perhaps better players but a a manager who doesn't make that big a difference on the tactical front (let alone whether we are favourites or not - we know how hat usually goes with Spurs in general anyway...)

Sorry, literally no-one is going to agree with you on that.

You have no excuse though plenty of space, very few people and a massive sovereign wealth fund.

It's also very sparsely populated and full of mountains and rivers. It's almost impossible to build anything in straight lines unless you tunnel through everything. It's expensive to build and run, but something has to be done to get people to use it more.

Not from Norway, but it's on my bucket list.

It would be easier to move everyone from Tromso and Bodo back down to the real world, and bulldoze these silly towns.

Concidering they are missing both their midfield maestro and midfield engine room, and their replacements aren't anywhere near their level, and possibly one of the front 3 injured, and backup striker suspended, we should win at home.
But I think we will need a 3 goal advantage, as I'm pretty certain they will win at home. They very rarely lose at home, in fact I think they've only lost once at home in European games in the last 3-4 seasons. And they've faced the likes of Besiktas, Roma, AZ Alkmaar, Roma, Olympiacos, Twente, Red Star, Lazio, Nice, PSV and lost none of them at home, so imo, they are favourites at home, no matter who they face.
Overall I have Spurs as slight favourites 55-45.

Knutsen is very tactically astute. They're not confined to playing one way, but can mix it up based on the opposition. Although they lack individual quality (not a single one of their players would be in our starting XI), they are an exceptionally well drilled TEAM. Check out their goals in their home game against Lazio, for instance, both excellent team goals.

We should absolutely beat them over two legs, but we need to be on our toes, and if we underestimate them, we're in trouble. They're an excellent home team, so we need to get a bit of a lead from our home game. They lack 4 first team players for the first leg, so I really hope we grab that advantage with both hands and score as many goals as possible.

It can, and most likely will, get tough, but I think we'll edge it.

Perhaps if Bodo are missing their star players, it will galvanize them to get a boring 0-0 or 1-0 loss at ours, then take it back home
