Euro 2020

Yes, I suppose there are degrees of seriousness but when your heart has stopped it’s gotta be right up there.

There must have been an underlying condition?? Or can the heart just stop, get restarted and you be fine??

Yeah, I didn’t mean to seem crass. It’s obviously about as serious as it gets short-term. I’m just hoping there is some kind of logical explanation which is treatable and means his career isn’t ended by this. The fact that he was able to speak to his team mates and ask them to carry on with the game seems remarkable - and a really good sign.

Didn’t come off as crass at all mate

His apparent alertness and “recovery” at this early stage seems incredible, and maybe indicative of something at the “less” serious end of things.

I hope for his sake he can play again. I wonder with a young family he might just think I’ve had my warning, I’m gonna take things easy now.

Unreal story. I can barely believe this evening.

How do the football authorities justify playing this game? The players wanted to play is not an answer. What do they expect if the players are asked to play on for Christian? It's not a fair question. Are they expecting his teammates to say "no, I'm still suffering emotionally" or "let's do it for Christian"?
