Eric Dier

I only got to watch the match in bits and pieces and couldn't gather a complete picture. But after that bone-jarring tackle on Ramos, did anyone dribble past Dier the rest of the night?
Ramos dribbled every time he got the ball scared he was getting tackled again

Ramos clearly doesn’t like it “up ‘em”.

Great tackle - nice to see from Dier. Would love to see him bring that to the premier league on some of the divers. Give them something to roll around the floor about!

I didnt even realise there was a game, but great to hear Dier was showing what he can do

Eric put in a good shift.

He's a big unit and reminds me of our need for a destroyer rather than supertanker from an agility point of view.
Winks is the ideal size for the job of a midfielder in the modern game.

The more I watch that tackle, the better it gets. Our holding midfielder is sprinting his arse off, and ends up our furthest man forward. I think he may have even used their No.4 as a shield to disguise his attack.

He centre half playing in midfield.
He is a great utility player who gives his best for the squad and Pochettino and myself loves him for it.

Not at all, IMO.

He is a midfielder who can do a job at CB. He is, IMHO, a little iffy at the back and far far more competent in midfield.

And I think he is an excellent midfielder, far more than "utility".

Last season wasn't his best IMO. I thought he coasted through the season a little, but he now seems to be upping his game again. I see a lot more progressive play rather than the sideways/backwards fair he served up more often than not last season.

That tackle was a thing of beauty too. Even though he was pulled up on it (wrongly!) it set the tone for the first half performance.
