Wouldn't want to hear from them anyway . What they gonna say? Would all be lies anyhow.
" this season has been tough, we plan to do better blah blah blah"

Only thing I want to read from them is their resignation letter

Raphael Moersen is coming in which will take the football side of Vinais role away from him and then Kehl as DofF so Lange is back to glorified youth scout which he’s actually decent at.

I’d rather they both get sacked tomorrow but they are not gonna be that close to the 1st team anymore.

Agreed.

I am not wholly convinced by Kehl; not been confirmed yet has he?

Yeah, I do see how a lot of this season boils down to putting Vinai and Lange in positions they shouldn’t really be in, and how replacing Levy the way they did puts them in that position because it created a vacuum.

Vinai doesn’t know the club, and didn’t have enough football people around him. He gave Arteta patience and thought he could do the same here with Frank. At Arsenal he had better football people around him and here he only had Lange.

Lange, who doesn’t have the experience to be a true Sporting Director. Leading a data driven scouting set up, sure. He seems good at that. But making critical decisions about the strategic direction of the club and the first team…nope. He may well also have been compromised by his prior relationship with Frank and let that get in the way.

What I can’t understand is why no one was going to the players and asking what they thought. Maybe there was the intention to reduce player power in this new structure and that’s why they didn’t. All in all though it lead to disaster.

Vinai and Lange have some culpability and could have made better decisions. But they should never have been in the positions they were put in.

How do we know nobody spoke to the players?

Well they have backed themselves into a corner now, nothing other than a great summer will do

I say this as someone who absolutely loathes them - it's a fair statement, honest about how far they've fallen short and identifying the areas they want to fix.

But - words are worthless. They have let this institution crumble to the point of being moments from disaster. Unless this summer sees de Zerbi emerge at the end of it with a completely transformed squad and a backroom staff that can stem the ridiculous incompetence we have seen, across the medical, scouting and academy teams...then it will all have been just more hot air.

A good statement on the face of it, but it won't stop calls for the ouster of Lange and Vinai.

Also, sorry, reflecting on this and can I just say - '[...]the qualities that make Spurs distinct, our football, our ambition, the connection between the team and its supporters, had been allowed to fade. Football success had not been driving our decisions.'

Levy is gone. You had January to show you were making decisions with 'footballing success' in mind.

Those decisions apparently being to sell a winger, only for the other to immediately fall injured, and then close the window having signed a single midfielder with a net spend of 15m because 'it was important not to panic'.

Lord knows I've said my piece on Daniel Levy and how much he hamstrung us. But stop using him as an excuse for your own brick decisions. Trusting Lange and Vinai, Messrs. Dumb and Dumber. Keeping Frank well past his expiration date. Signing one player in January. These were, and are, your calls. Not Levy's.

About as good a statement as it could be.
I'm heartened by this bit
We will build a squad, led by Roberto
Let's hope they stick to being led by Roberto.

1. Appointing Frank was a disaster.
2. Shunting Levy when they did and the way they did was a disaster.
3. Their inability to read rooms and connect with supporters has been a disaster.
4. The only thing they've got right was shutting the f uck up since De Zerbi has come in.
5. The single biggest questions and evaluations need to happen in their rarified cheese rooms.
6. I still get palpably angry when I see Lange and Venkatesham, however the Lewis family need to show up too.
1. Agreed. Really poor choice for Spurs manager.
2. Disagree, he is responsible for a lot of what is wrong on the football side of things at Spurs.
3. I think it is reasonably rare for owners to connect with the fans. There should be more connect from the CEO though I think. I suspect that will come from this summer onwards.
4. Not sure what this means. I do think they deserve credit for appointing De Zerbi when they did. They had to admit they had got the Tudor decision wrong and fix it quite quickly- which they did.
5. Don't know what you mean here?
6. I don't get at all angry when I see Venkatesham. I think he could be a very good CEO for Spurs. One thing I know is that it takes a lot longer than just a few months to make big changes to an organisation. Lange I think is a decent spotter of young talent. I'm not sure he is good/senior enough to be a DoF however. I hope that the CEO goes out and appoints a proper DoF this summer.

I actually think differently to you here. I think Vinai, as CEO, was taking advice from his DoF, Lange. This actually makes me optimistic for the future. Otherwise you get ridiculous situations like we've had before where we've spent big money sacking really good managers like Redknapp and Pochettino because the chief exec thinks he actually has a clue about football.

I agree with you that Lange isn't a good enough DoF. However, I expect that will be put right this summer and Vinai will go out and appoint a really good DoF and then he will trust that DoF with his football decisions, as he should IMO.
