Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

yep, we were a different attacking unit today, we actually had some decent chances

Emirates Marketing Project 4-1 Tottenham FT

Shots(OT) 20(12) - 19(7)

Creating chances, but not scoring is still way better than the nothing Ade adds.

on soldado's first game in the epl - shall we all agree that he deserves to start the next?

i would say yes....on that performance alone vs the fact that ade is out of form for the time being solly needs the next game

it also helps though that Emirates Marketing Project played in a manner that allowed us to show what we can do...that helped solly alot

he had a good game today but his confidence is extremely low

he should be given the chance to build upon this performance

To repeat, Wlebeck would have been an improvement on at least one of the ' front four' that started today. In fact he would have been a better bet than three of them. Nothing to do with 'flavour of the month' he's simply a better Prem player than Chadli, Lamela or Soldado.

He isn't.

More importantly: He has nothing to do with this thread.

Still think soldado is out of his depth in EPL but I thought he was great today. Fair play.

Would start Ade against Saudi Sportswashing Machine as at home they will sit deeper and we may have to be more direct, but i agree he deserves a start. Looked hungry and better than Ade on his current form

Don't know what Kane has to do get a start though!

Could be but we'll never know for sure, so I'll take your point. What say we get this topic back on track, and talk about Soldado instead of Ade while the memory is still fresh in the mind.

i dont think that this was necessarily because ade wasnt playing

I think it was. Soldado did what a striker should be doing (except score) and stayed in the centre, created chances and got in goalscoring positions. I think today possibly blows the whole "Poch is asking to striker to play out wide" argument out of the water. Or maybe he is just asking Ade to do that?

but soldado ventured wide many times also

i dont get what you mean ?

for me , like i told KD before in this very thread i think, the fact that Pochetinno is playing narrow wing forwards who actually operate like wing forwards and actually get in the box makes it a completely fresh start for soldado for me...because thats the kind of team he is more likely to thrive in... a team that supports him and provides support in the box...feeds him or the areas he lives off of and also a team he can break off and form good nippy tight units with all over the pitch..
The tidy intricate stuff with options and support around him is what soldado needs.....all thats left now is for someone that can thread the needle....in time i think eriksen and lamela will provide that alot more with a chemistry and familiarity with soldado

Ade is still my number one choice though but currently soldado has been given a chance in the starting 11 with these players under poch's system and in my opinion he has taken it well. his confidence is just too low....he should have scored

I think if Adebayor produced an identical performance to Soldado today, he'd get slated by those who don't like him. Given the opposition, I thought Soldado did well.

He drifted wide but Ade does it FAR too often, to the point where he's hardly in the position to be scoring, which is ultimately his job.

Soldado is low on confidence agreed, but I was pleasnantly surprised today by his play.

That isn't true IMO. He got praise last season when he was scoring goals even though people get frustrated by his work rate.
