Luka Modric
but mostly those quick breaks came to nothing. that had nothing to do with ade.
do you really mean that? i mean its a strange statement to make altogether if ade is our one man up top.

I see every time he has a bad game ADE is going to be the board scape goat in the most nasty way. It's really quite disgraceful.
You're forgetting that this is a team in which most of the players had not won in 4 games and were short on confidence. I suspect the emphasis today was safety first, that is don't lose rather than go for the win. That affected our attacking play.
Its all good. If you watch and read you can glean quite quickly in here who knows their stuff, who is objective, and who has agendas. Sometimes I wish some of the people that say the least would say the most and more often. Anyhoo, good result today, team effort, everyone played a part, and nobody should really get trashed. Yeah, right.
Ade was good first half yesterday.
Ade was good first half yesterday.
A good first half in being a lazy **** yep... mastered that art down to a tee.
In what sense? I saw break out of a jog a handful of times. He fluffed the one chance he did get. Admittedly he got into the box and Mason didn't find him but I fail to see what he's offering us at the moment. Yes, I know Soldado didn't exactly rip it up last season, but I've more confidence in him or Kane than I do in Adebayor if a chance were to fall their way.
EDIT: Why does he only looked pumped up once in a blue moon. Everyone remembers that celebration at the Etihad, that's honestly the hardest I've ever seen him run.
He wasn't lazy in the slightest and it's sad people don't/won't see it.
As i said before he had the beating of the 2 Goon cb's and made some extremely clever runs. If it wasn't for Lamela's atrocious pass he would have been away and it it wasn't for Mason's very bad cross he would have scored. The gooner backline was scared ****less in the first half and it was very noticeable (maybe not to spurs fans that don't rate him). He also ****ed up a v.good chance BUT it was his beautiful control that created it in the first place.
2nd half he was totally ineffective but that was down to the pressure they applied and the way we played as a team.
Mason didn't find him?
I thought the cross was hard and a good height for a player running to the near post while the keeper hung back.
And there we have it, Ade likes to lurk as well, then work up to a lope. If he can be bottle and glassed.
That's the biggest understatement i've ever read.
Don't worry your confidence for him will be gone when he misses sitter number 10 in his first 2 games.

All I can say is, I hope it isn't your dislike of Soldado that is clouding your judgement.
I've watched the first half twice (yes i'm sad) in it's entirety. I paid particular attention to Ade and Mason when watching and i can tell you that some of the comments about ade's first half performance on here is both comical and totally wrong.
He wasn't any worse than Adebayor was in 2012/13 when Bale had to carry us because Ade was so ****.
Have you forgotten all the sitters Ade has missed for Spurs? Case in point, last week vs WBA?
It's one thing being offside by mistiming a run, it's unnacceptable to be standing in an offside position and not make it back in time. That's one reason why people think he is lazy. I don't know why every supporter of his previous clubs and most supporters of Spurs can see it but not you. 1 goal in 6 btw, hardly setting the world alight. How long do we stick with him before giving Kane a go?
